No, but there was a few dudes at work who lost friends over pro Trump facebook comments. People started de-friending them. I have never de-friended anyone over politics but I have muted their posts becauae all their posts was something like "Trump is racist because he hates black ppl". So I could see how Trump supporters could lose facebook friends atleast. No one wants to see that constantly
I dont engage in conversations regarding politics so no. I have fun things to do
No. I try not to engage too much in political discussions. I have my beliefs, but I keep them mostly to myself because it's not worth the arguments and at the end of the day, people can believe what they want.
I do know someone who has been blocked by multiple people over politics, however. But, to be fair, he's pretty in-your-face and loves the confrontation. There was a pretty bad blowup in which him and another person I know (both are pretty extreme/radical on opposite ends of the political spectrum) and they've still hated and bitched and moaned about each other for years, lol.
Almost. They suspect I am a fake republican. (Actually, I'm a dead center libertarian). Truth be told, I refuse to respond to any political argument that's based on cognitive bias. And, both parties have plenty of them.
No, but our family reunions just keeps the politics to a general issues.
I dont see how people could honestly truely believe that biden is anywhere near a good president. For fuck sakes obama ratted on him for having shit judgement. I suppose we just got to deal with horrible Harris for then next 4 years. Hopefully their stupidity costs them in the house and the senate in 2 years.
I'm not saying Biden is great but he's about like all the non-Trump presidents over the last few decades.
Bill Clinton wasn't amazing but he saved the economy after George H. W. Bush wrecking it (just like happens every single time a Democrat takes over after a Republican, which is why Trump himself was once a Democrat). He also tried to find out about aliens which was cool.
George W. Bush obviously wasn't destined to be liked by me as I'm a leftist, but at the end of the day he was just another Republican, and usually at the end of the day a president is a president.
I loved Obama's charm but he also did a lot of shady things I won't deny. Like Clinton before him, he did a lot of work to fix the economy he inherited.
Then came Trump, a completely unqualified president that made us the laughing stock of the world, a complete joke. He was a trainwreck in ways no other president, even a Republican, will ever come close to again.
It's not just leftist shit talk about a Republican in general as there are amazing, literal statistics that show he was the worst yet.
Some records:
• Lowest average approval rating in US history. Yes, history. He was that bad.
• Only president to be impeached twice in US history.
• Consequently holds half of all impeachments since the founding of the United States. Did this in 4 years.
• One of only five presidents to lose the popular vote, and the only president to ever lose the popular vote and not redeem themselves by later serving another term.
• Only president in US history to refuse to concede after all counting was finalized, baselessly claim election fraud, and try to steal another term.
• Only president in US history to be widely believed to have incited an attack on the US itself in a failed insurrection.
Tell me what the fuck is Joe Biden's ass going to do to top that? Or even any future Republican? No one's going to come close. No one fucks up being president like Donald Trump does. No one.
Know how laymen can only even name like 10 presidents, usually the greats and the recent ones? Like it or not, if the US is around a century from now, he'll be one of those names. Unlike Lincoln and the like, it'll be because he's known as having been such an exceptionally bad president after an experiment in electing a reality TV star. None of the kids that aren't into history will even be able to think of either of the Bush presidents, Clinton, Joe, etc. Kids will laugh and talk about how stupid people must have been 100 years ago to have voted for him.
Stop. Stop making fun of the ppl that stormed the Capitol. They were heroes. Patriots.
I wish their forefathers knew that their heroic sacrifices in times of war would culminate in meth lab jim literally smearing handfuls of his own feces on the walls of the capitol because an illeterate orange blob called the election fake news.
These people are true patriots and what the founding fathers had in mind when they signed the sacred texts in 1776.
COZ I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN
WHERE AT LEAST I KNOW IM FREE
Absolutely, but only once over literal, admitted neo-Nazism and once over denied but apparent complete psychopathy.
The few times I did it:
• An old friend from school reconnected and was always posting criticism of Trump but, here's the catch, for not being racist, homophobic, and transphobic _enough_. He said Trump was _clearly_ extremely xenophobic, which is why him and other literal neo-Nazis had voted for him, but he felt betrayed that Trump was only making the lives of those he hated much harder and wasn't actually rounding up blacks and gays in concentration camps. He said Trump was better than nothing though and the best he'd seen yet. Still held hope he'd gradually outlaw the news and become the next Hitler. Yikes. Blocked.
• A conservative I was actually steadily friends with in childhood was having a debate with me when he suddenly said that he actually had no doubt that Trump should have been impeached _both_ times and that he was also fully aware Trump had stolen money from charities for veterans and children with cancer. He reasoned that he loved cheating in card games and felt cheating was a perfectly reasonable thing to do in politics as well and that it was great Trump had managed to break the law and get away with it thanks to Mitch McConnell. He also said most of those kids were probably going to die anyway and, "Who _wouldn't_ be tempted to at least skim a little from the top? I know I would." Yikes. Blocked.
Times others did it to me:
• My father and more others than I could count have at various times blocked me in what's essentially known as "rage-quitting" after tiring of endlessly very clearly losing public debates with me.
A great example of this is that I can't see WeirdGuyFromTheSouth's comment here. I can't hurt him anymore. He has his safe place. Of course we were never friends
No u got blocked for saying 1 too many sass mouth things about Donald.
I think snowflakes like u ppl are just jealous of his raw sexual power.
Do you think Melania recoils from holding his tiny creepy hands because she's literally disgusted by his very existence? No, she's obviously just intimidated by his powerful masculinity
Sometimes when I can't sleep, I like to imagine myself rubbing orange bronzer into his vast doughy flappy crevasses.
Oh I won't vote for anybody else
When I think about trump I touch myself
Not that I know of but it was only a matter of time, as I agree with you and Countess a lot.
I've noticed they mostly tend to do it when someone knows something they foolishly thought only another user knew, as if it wasn't all posted here and isn't talked about.
For example, I saw LloydAsher say you must have two accounts because you mentioned something about him rating his girlfriend as a D minus. I assume he thought that meant you were Countess because she gives him hell about it, but I'm also very aware of that incident, as I'm sure many others are.
I think WeirdGuyFromTheSouth blocked me for political reasons, but I'm sure he'd have thought I was Countess if I'd mentioned that he slept with a 12-year-old.
Hah probably...we're not dealing with the intelligentsia here...
Aww. It always feels nice when someone smart whose comments I enjoy says they agree with me. Thank you :) I can't be too dumb then haha.
I mean...I did have two accounts, years ago. I admitted it. I also can't seem to find it, so I assume it's been deleted.
Yes. My half-brother, who was put up for adoption at 6 months of age, and who I had not met until 4 years ago thru Ancestry, stopped communicating when he found out I had gotten off the Trump "heading for a wreck" train and was a Biden volunteer. No one could say it better than Sounds_Weird did and I second every word. Even my first gf (we were 14 and 13) forgave me for voting Trump in 2016 and accepted my FB friend request again. I thought for sure Trump would blow his brains out if he lost. Unfortunately, no.
I really don't care about someone else's political beliefs. People can like Trump or hate him, it doesn't effect my life. If you need to end a relationship because they like Trump or hate him, then you're the problem.
Well this blew up. I've lost a friend because he turned into a massive sjw, but that's just from not renewing contact with him more than "cutting someone off". As long as someone is chill to me in person then you could hate everything I love politically and I'd still be your friend.
