My dad. He has interest in games, especially airplane combat stuff, but he finds the controls too difficult.
We have played GTA V together, but he finds it too chaotic and fast paced.
He did play WOW for some time, but got bored with it.
Sometimes he plays strategy games and wishes he could play anything with ease like me.
Thing is, I don't see why he can't... His reaction times are very good, he can do everything I can. Hell, he was a navy captain and is smarter than me, but is baffled by a dumb videogame?!
I'm overall bad at shooting games but i've also never been so invested that i've learned the tricks a true gamer probably knows.
Not really. I dont think there is such a thing as "being a bad gamer". Everybody is bad at any game when you start playing. You just gain experience over time which usually transfers over to other games, simply because they work in similar ways.
Though regarding the question - not really, no. Everybody I know is a gamer or not. Nobody "in between" or who would like to get into games, but can't for some reason.
My neighbor growing up loved playing games but was always terrible. I would get obsessed with a certain game and play it all day until I was good. He would play it for a few hours a day get killed 1000 times then play another game. He never got good at any one game. Id always beat him in anything we played even if he had the game for months and it was my first time playing
No, I’ve only met people who have no interest and would suck if they tried.
I’ve never owned my own console but when I try on other people’s they laugh at how bad I am. My sister’s latest hobby is yelling abuse at people on COD and complaining over dinner about how unskilled they are, she would agree with your point - aggressively.
I think if anyone has trouble with one game genre, they just need to find one they're good at. For example, I am terrible at first person shooters or platformers, but if you give me a copy of Wizardry 8, I'll beat it so easily that the people who claim that it's hard will call me a cheater.
