To be honest‚ its not a fear. I'm intrigued by it. Sometimes I hear sounds of furniture being moved or dragged late at night at about 2 or 3:00am. They seem to be comming from attic‚ we have parts of old furniture there. We have neighbors in adjacent buildings but who would move furniture this late at night?
Did the OP get killed by the upstairs phantom? Or did he ecape his fate?

My upstairs neighbors seem to move furniture (or something like marble sculptures.. that's how it sounds sometimes) all day and !night! long as well. At first they where new here so I thought it was pretty normal but now I really don't get what's going on. The neighbors who lived there before did the same thing.. Also in my old apartment the guy who lived upstairs made these noises too but I know he built a lot of things so that could be an explanation. I got a friend who's always telling me the same about his neighbors... It's a mystery.
Maybe there's someone living in your attic. It happens a lot more often than you'd think...
Lmao there is actually stories on this for reals. So yeah check your attic first. And if nothing is there (including an animal) i think it's probably your neighbors.
I have a detached house but can hear everything perfectly at night time. Like when our neighbors are on their deck moving things around it sounds so loud like it's in my house.
Try to imagine it was just me doing all that stuff. Then, it might restore your curiousness if it's not a fear.
