Hemorrhoids at age 20?

Honestly it's the worst thing in the world.. I can't have sex, have a normal bowel movement, or run around like I want to. I use suppositories to medicate the area as well as tucks pads with witch hazel. I also have IBS-C. My parents never brought me to a doctor for this, I just know. I also can't go to a doctor during coronavirus. I also take sitz baths to reduce inflammation. Is this normal for someone my age to be experiencing such abnormal health issues?

I can't recall for sure when I first experienced the joys of haemorrhoids, but I'm pretty sure I was in my late twenties. I definitely remember an extremely unpleasant bout when I was I was 30 because I recall suffering through a course I was on then. My recollection is that it wasn't the first time.

They are very, very unpleasant, and the first time you experience them you suddenly understand why 'pain in the ass' has become an expression.

As long as they haven't been bothering you for more than ten days or so and as long as there's no serious bleeding, I doubt if a doctor would be able to help much. As far as I know, the only way to deal with serious and persistent haemorrhoids is by surgery and there's no magic pill or potion that will make them shrink or take away all the pain.

Hang in there, make sure you drink lots of fluids to keep your stool soft, and also make sure you eat foods high in fibre.

Straining while on the toilet is the most common cause of haemorrhoids, and you can reduce your chances of them returning by making it a habit to empty your bowels as soon as you feel the need, eating lots of fibre, and staying hydrated.

You should also look into changing your posture on the toilet. The best position for emptying the bowels is squatting, but our natural inclination is to sit upright on a toilet since that's how we normally sit on chairs. You can now get little stools which lift your feet off the floor and raise your knees, and if you then lean forward, things are better aligned to make it possible to empty the bowels without straining.

It's called not sitting on your ass for so long. Give your ass a break or have a cushion or something. Also hemrodial creams are so common that you can find them at nearly every store that sells more drugs than tylenol.

Lol hemorroids have nothing to do with age. I got some when I was around 7 or 8 years old then again around 12 and maybe once when I was in my teens but haven't had any since.

    How is your fiber intake?

You need to eat more fiber. Eat lots of beans, fruits, and veggies. Clean up your diet eat cooked food. Being constipated makes them 100 times worse.

It doesn't help I'm also lactose intolerant. I am working on a more fiberous diet.. it's for sure more expensive than I thought 😂

Oats are cheap. Not the most exciting food, but sometimes you need to eat things for a functional reason rather than for pleasure of doing so.

As WeirdMan says, beans are cheap too, but if you have general issues with your digestive tract, then it's possible that the amount of gas they generate could create other issues.

Almost any sort of whole, unprocessed fruit or vegetable will contain a fair amount of fibre.

In America its cheap. A can of black beans is like 48 cents. Get you a strainer, strain the juice, salt them. Theyre good. If you eat 2 cans a day you wont have any problems. But until then you need probably like 5 cans now just because ur prolly backed up. Its good if u fry them.

Fruit is good too. Get a big bag of oranges and just eat one every few hours. Theyre addictive.
