Here's a thought for the block function on the site.
Fact 1: When you block someone here you do not see their comments and they don't see yours, in which case both parties miss out on other posters' replies with whom they might like to interact and whose ideas they'd like to know.
Fact 2: It's easy enough to read those other comments since this a public forum and one can either simply sign out or sign in with a different account in order to do so.
That said, wouldn't it be better if only the blocker didn't see the blockee's comments since they are the one bothered by the other's participation? There's plenty of people whose comments I don't care to read or reply to but I don't block them because I like to follow the full discussions that are going on. Why not make the feature a little different?
Something like the blocker doesn't see blockee's comments and threads and blockee sees it all but isn't allowed to interact with blocker? 'Cause I'm reading all of it anyways, I just have to go through the trouble of using a different browser or account.
Then there could be a two-way block available for both users to block each other if they wish to do so.
Any thoughts?
