Depends on where you live and where you get your education... and a dozen other factors.
History itself isn't propaganda. When things that happened in the past are taught in a biased or otherwise incomplete way it becomes propaganda.
Depends on which shows you watch as well such as fox news is mostly fear mongering propaganda and msnbc is very left leaning too you have to consider the source I wouldn't just generalize it's all this or the other.
I think you're making the assumption that it's possible to tell history without values or opinions.
Think of it using this pained simile:
"Reality" is like a bunch of ones and zeros. It doesn't make any sense by itself. To observe it in any meaningful way, you need your programming language. However, said language brings along with it certain emphases; some things are deemed more important than others, necessarily.
50/50 history tends to be written by the victors. and there are always at least 2 sides to a story, then the truth in the middle
That's why you get you seek out multiple sources and decide for yourself rather than just listening to what people tell you. News everywhere is all the same information, but it's presented differently. Both the US and Russia will tell you the Russians annexed Crimea, but while the US will say they are "invaders", and have no reason being there, the Russians will present themselves as "liberators". Both are dramatically different from each other, and both are true.
A lot of history is propaganda. Different countries have different versions of the same events. The further in the past these events are, the less likely they are to be truthfully reflected in history books.
