I have been reading about the history of the US militarys involvement in prostitution. It seems from what I read that the US in both Vietnam and korea provided hookers for soldiers. In the Korean war they were actually paid by the South Korean government and were also regularly tested and given living quarters to have sex with American soldiers for money. Many of these prostitutes later tried to sue the South Korean government for this. There's several times the US military has gotten bad PR for this type of behavior.

But in your opinion if the women are willing to do it and they're happy with their pay do you believe it is wrong? I believe it's in a way morally wrong yes but at the same time if young soldiers are coming back from the bush and seeing all their friends die I can see how providing those kind of services would boost moral and make give soldiers something to look forward to.

    I'm not much of a history buff but are your sure that these weren't Japanese "comfort women"...? It's fucked up in the extreme, so I'll leave that to anybody who feels like googling it.

    Buuuuuut, I genuinely think that honest prostitution is a good thing, personally. Your body your rules, why the fuck should that not apply to women as well? Telling ANYONE what they can or can't do with their body is rather degrading. I get that women are "cute and innocent" and that we all "deserve" to be "protected", but this is needlessly infantilizing. Basically fuck off, women and men alike can make their own decisions. lol thanks for reading

    also as a side note, I can see how this would be somewhat morally wrong if a soldier who was already in a relationship before he went to war decided to go see a prostitute. That's kind of a grey area for me honestly. But what it boils down to is this: War is war, and war is not pretty. It's horrible. If having sex helps give someone enough morale to keep living and moving on in life, then why not? Cheating is clearly wrong, but if sex makes someone going through complete Hell feel better then you should probably turn a blind eye. yeah that's my viewpoint lol.

      Yeah you pretty much summed it up. Im not talking about the Japanese comfort women. These was the US military who were more relaxed on such things back then. Today it would be almost inconceivable for the US military to do this. I doubt this went on in Iraq or Afghanistan. Its a different day and age. Although I dont think its that bad.
