Everyone swears they work every time and it's always some knowledge that was passed down to them or a trusted friend told you it work. So put on your thinking caps on and lets see what you got for answers to my questions :
1. What is the craziest home remedy you know of and what's it for ?
2. Do you believe in home remedies or do you think they are just quacks ?

    For toothaches: cloves

For flu: ginger, honey, lemon juice and a shot of whisky, all mixed in warm water.

For aches, cramps and pains: bath in an Epsom salts bath.

For everything else there's Master Card

Wearing wet socks to bed to help fight a cold. Sounds crazy, but has worked for me. It stimulates circulation and kick the immune system into gear.

Some home remedies work, some don't. Some are the root of their synthetic counterpart and some are confused remedies.

I'm not sure what you mean by home remedies as many are common cures or treatements. Like using aloe on a burn. I always keep some in the house. As with vinegar, vinegar has many uses. I tend to look into the science behind any remedy or application of a product. Following blindly can be dangerous in either situation.

You don't want them dripping. I usually use small cotton ankle socks. Then you cover them in dry wool socks to help keep warm. Overnight your body heat will dry the socks. Since your feet are furthest from your heart your blood will pump exta hard to warm them up for you. This will make healthy blood travel all through your body.

    I believe in home remedies.

Just a week or two ago, my girlfriend had an earache from hell one night. It woke her up and hurt so bad it was making her cry, and she has a very high pain tolerance too. Well, I looked up a couple of things to try online. We tried olive oil, and that seemed to help a little bit, but it didn't really penetrate very well. I read that ginger root was supposed to be really good.

Well, I didn't have any ginger root, but I did have ginger powder. I dumped some into a coffee filter and poured boiling water over it to extract the contents out of it. I then used a dropper to administer a few drops of the ginger solution in her ear. It worked perfectly. She stopped hurting within a few minutes, and within about 30 minutes the pain was completely gone. She hasn't hurt since.
