How additcted are you to your phone?

I hate cell phones. I ignore it for the most part. Are you one of those people who talk or text while purchasing things from a human?

I see cell phones as an annoyance for the most part. It's like there's no escape anymore! It's become near impossible to be unreachable to undesired contact. You used to be able to say "oh sorry I missed your call, I wasn't home" or to tell that ugly guy that you "lost his number" but since it's such a process to delete a contact from a cell, the excuse doesn't work anymore. It's difficult to not give out your number too. Many many times I've had a person give me their number and then they asked me to call them (right there on the spot) so they would then have my number. It's a tough situation to get out of sometimes!!

I don't like that some people think it's OK to call or text frequently either. I have a low minute plan for my phone and some people just run out my minutes by texting too much, especially with those stupid FWD's!! GMAB, I heard all those lame jokes in 3rd grade!

I like having a cell for emergencies and to be able to call my husband to have him pick up some milk on his way home from work but that's about it!! I never use a cell phone for social calls.

I don't own a cell phone. But I keep a hidden hand gun under my clothes all the time. It has no monthly fee.

I had my phone stolen, they they rang to return it. I think they wanted a reward but when they asked if I'd missed it I said no, I was relieved to get some peace.

It seems that most people haven't caught onto the fact it is so rude to ignore the people you are with, in order to talk to someone else (excuse yourself and go away) - or even worse, text someone!!!

OMG How rude! Texts aren't urgent!!
I can't remember who said it (Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson ...) but he said the only place you should be when you text, is in the bathroom!!
EXACTLY! Go there in private and don't be so bloody rude to the people who are actually wasting their time in your company!

    • That is lovely. I made a new friend tonight who apologized for answering his text message mid conversation. I loved his awareness of the situation.

    • This reminds me of a comic I saw. It showed that the relative excitement of receiving socks for Christmas goes up with age.

  • I grew up somewhere fairly rural so I was never addicted to television, junk food, internet, cell phones etc etc.

But now that I have those things I can say that life was more peaceful without them.
