    Rare but given the population more common than you would think. In first world countries you have to go through many hoops to be qualified to be handling the dead. In other less off countries I suppose that rate is dramatically higher.

    Purely based on the number of murders and morticians, I would put it somewhere between 10,000 and 100,000.

    It could be more common than that, but I hope not.

        Many necrophiliacs are not murderers, and many morticians are not necrophiliacs...

        A decent estimate on the number would actually be far higher than 32,000 in a country of over 300,000,000.

        That's why my actually vote went towards 100,000.

        I also hate saying this, but I would say a lot more necrophilia likely takes place in third world countries. So that skewed my answer a bit as well.
