Almost everyone from my generation have probably pirated something at some point. Why? because it's free obviously, but that's only the cherry on top of it all. It's also easy and fast, and many industries still refuse to accept digital distribution as the future(so they are kind of asking for it).

That varies greatly from country to country. I'm from Russia and here everyone is a pirate with a very few exceptions. Not only persons, but organizations (big and small) too. I know because i studied in university and in our computer class only Windows was licensed and i worked in big organization where every program was stolen.
Tell you more - it's hard not to be a pirate here. I downloaded this movie, you see, and really liked it. So i dressed up and walked to the mall nearby to buy it. Every disk there was a pirate disk! What the hell, police station is like 100 meters away from that mall.

"I definitely would like people to purchase The 3rd World in stores and purchase it online, but I think it was more of a way for me to express my frustration with the music industry. I can’t believe they have the audacity to call anybody else a thief. As much money as they steal from artists, as much as they don’t have a health care program for any of their artists, and I look at stuff like that and I’m disgusted. They go to these conferences and tell kids, “How can you steal a record?” I’m like really?" - Immortal Technique

I use to pirate music. Then my computer got stolen so I figured it was karma.

Now I just buy my music.

For some reason when I read "I used to pirate music." I was absolutely CERTAIN that the next phrase was going to be "...but then I took an arrow to the knee"

      I'm glad it wasn't.

Well to those who had voted "I do not pirate" just to let you know you have actually broken laws subconsciously.

Back to pirating, it is normal. Mamma said Sharing is Caring so why not? We spread the love of material objects to those who are cheapskate and/or cannot afford it. Hey don't blame us that your crappy ass American government can't properly fund the under-privilege people to even buy basic necessities. You know what some schools in America teach? Hacking. Yes that's right and now you blame them for finally applying something they learned in school out of the other 99% of ass crap you shove down their throats.

    I do not pirate.

I'm not going to say if I believe it to be right or wrong to pirate, but my family is relatively rich compared to most; I don't NEED to pirate to get enough music, games, TV shows, films etc. to keep me happy, so I don't.

Yeah, I wish I didn't have to pirate. I want to pay for music so bad but i can't afford it. That stuff builds up after a while. :(

Same. I pirate somethings that are small, like music, and I pirate expensive shit from Adobe. If I was rich, I would buy things.
