How do i destress

I'm a very motivated person. I work very hard, am driven and spend most of my free time volunteering or doing extra hours at work. I barely see my family but most of them disowned me or live far away. I get very stressed if I'm not working and prefer being alone 90% of the time when I'm not in work setting. I've been told I'm super uptite. I drank and smoke thought it might help but they often don't work very well. I have issues sleeping because my brains always going and it's hard to rest. I'm on alert 24/7 and have severe attachment issues. I would try weed but I work for a government job and that would get me fired.

Alright govie, here's how you sort yourself out. First, start taking 2mg melatonin before bed. Next, google "the four agreements pdf" and click the first link that pops up.

Most people have no idea how good life gets once you apply agreement #2.

Valerian helps too. Except it smells like feet.

I'm not a fan of exercise for exercise's sake, but I wonder how much time you spend being active, ideally in someplace that's at least a little natural, such as a park.

Also, switch off all the damn screens in your life at least two hours before you want to go to sleep. The blue-tinted light inhibits your brain from producing the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin.

I use Trazodone for sleep. It's not addictive and it's not a benzo. It's an atypical anti-depressant that is dirt cheap and is often used for insomnia. No real side effects other than it makes you very sleepy. I sleep like a log since I started taking it. It is prescription though but since it's not a controlled substance it won't show on any drug test. They don't even have a test for it.

Try the universal stress relief- masturbation. I have found also to relax since I am a cross dresser I can relax simply by putting on a bra and other lingerie stuff. Yes I'm a guy

I really should be journaling, but it's hard for me, because I'm afraid of someone reading my stuff.

You figure it out, don't you have some hobbies or passions that you're into? Surely you can think of some way to have recreational fun, the options are limitless.

It makes 0 sense to me to be stressed out when resting. But my advice is this: Conduct an experiment on yourself. Don't volunteer for more work. Exercise, rest, do/find hobbies. Lay off alcohol and smoking. Do this for a week. During this time, you need to introspect.

Compare how you feel between working a lot like usual and my suggestions. If you still feel that working a lot is best for you, then go back to that. If work is really the one thing that doesn't stress you out, then there's nothing more you can do than volunteering for work even when you don't have to.

You mean that there's someone in government who is still firing on all cylinders, so-to-speak?

I think what you describe is a blessing, not a curse. Keep it going as long as you can!

Those who think it's a blessing have never been awake for two days straight.

I dunno, maybe they think its a blessing that you are so driven, and volunteer as well as work hard?

Believe it or not I have some fears of abandonment, and have trouble relaxing, shutting my thoughts off and getting to sleep. However I'm not a hard worker.

        • No it's not a blessing to be on all the time.

Yeah, I wouldn't wanna be on all the time. I'm probably either on low power or off. Are you anxious?
