How do people start relationships on the internet?

i hear stories all the time of people having an amazing relationship with some one online. be it a best friend and in some cases even love. i just don't understand ho people develop such close personal relationships with people online. i feel so distant from everyone on the internet it just doesn't make any sense how these relationships form?

    It usually starts with a live camera feed from someone's bedroom and then there's some sort of money exchange. And then you're BFF's.

    honestly i have wondered the same thing myself. even if you do make connection with someone they could turn out to be some kind of weirdo or pervert

    We just started talking. If you try to engage with someone on a personal and genuine level then of course you csn end up close, whether it be online or off.

    I met my husband on the internet. I have had Bfs before him who I have met not online. It's nice to meet somebody and get to know them through conversation first and then meet in person and see if they are really who they say they are.
