How do you deal with your period while you're dancing?

I have dance lessons coming up, we're doing ballet. I'm on my period and I'm gonna have to wear these white leotards and I'm not sure how to not bleed through it? I've never used a tampon, should I even use one? Is it uncomfortable to move around in?

I need help on what to do so I don't end up embarrassing myself.

    I'd use both, if it's used right you shouldn't be able to feel a tampon as you move and try wear sensible underwear to keep your pad in the right place

    Ask your dance instructor. Hopefully they are female, if not ask one of your fellow dancers.

    One of my mottos: If you don't ask the answer will always be no OR you will receive no information.

    Don't trust just a tampon, even the heavy ones, if you're a heavy bleeder.

    Tampons: if it's inserted properly you won't know it's there. Practise first though until you know how to insert correctly
