Taxidermy is kinda spooky to me. Gives an uncanny valley sort of feeling. A lot like the feeling of going to a wax museum.
that is so disrespectful to the animals that were stuffed.. they deserve a long peaceful rest after they died.. just let them be people its not nice. how would you feel if you were stuffed after you died? same thing.
I've said this before but if your kid dies or someone in your family and is in tact why can't you have them stuffed? Better then a photograph, now if you enter this room you can see my great grandfather who built this homestead with his bear hands... next to home you see the bear without hands........... seriously though stuff people. Could even go weird about it and make them plushy with real life plastics. Ma gonna borrow grandma for a bit.... yeahh....
I like stuffed animals, unfortunately good ones are expensive.
I did make the mistake of having one of my favourite Cats stuffed, wasted £300 all because I didn't want to let him go.
There was a little old lady whose Male and Female pet Monkeys sadly died, wanting to preserve their memory forever she took them to a Taxidermist who asked if she wanted them mounted.
'No,' she replied, 'just holding hands.'
After the initial shock value, I pretty much stopped caring. It gives as creepy a feeling to a house as mannequins, but it's not actually WRONG, per se. If I had devoted enough of my emotions to a pet, I'd probably do it myself.
While typing up the word "mannequins", I started wondering about human taxidermy. If you think about humans done up that way, I could totally see why someone would think it's "disgusting unrespectful".
