How do you start caring more about your fellow beings?

I'd kinda count this as spiritual, but I feel my empathy and sympathy for other people is depleted, and I don't know why, but I want to care more about others so I feel more motivated to be good to them. I used to love, really properly love, everyone because I saw them all as just the same. I don't know if I was naive or if I've grown more bitter, but I want to remember that. Does anyone have advice/has anyone else experienced this themselves? Did it go naturally or did something happen and cause change?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

It seems you've grown out of loving everyone and are becoming more discerning about where you give your love. That's a good thing!

If you're feeling depleted, take a break from caring for other people and look after yourself: if you can get someone else to coddle you, that would be even better. Then start making oontact with people again, one at a time: don't overwhelm yourself with other people, you'll end up burnt out and no use to yourself or others.

  • Don’t bother. Humanity will find a way to make you hate them within a few seconds of a positive feeling about them arising.

You've been through a lot of bull shut when you cared about others. Now you're like "Fuck them"
You have better things to do then waste your time in people who in the end are piece of shit.
You will find the right ones to love 💘 and care about. It just isn't every one anymore

I dunno how to feel about this advice considering the majority of it is 'don't bother' :/
I want to care more about others, it made me happy.

You been hanging out with too many sh1theads whether intentionally or not. I know it's kinda hard not to, but you have to learn to filter them out. Not everyone is worthy of your kindness, so save it for the best of them.
