How long do your obsessions last?

Whenever you discover something you love like a genre of music, movies/anime/shows, or a certain style, about how long does your obsession last?
Example: Most recently, I became pretty obsessed with everything fantasy and now my place looks like a magic shop out of an RPG, but after a few months, my focus is mostly on gory/tragic anime, comics and other art. It took a while for me to feel like I needed a change of pace, so it made me wonder about other people.

    It honestly depends.

    As a kid, I had a Dragon Ball Z obsession for five years. It faded after I graduated high school. I also had a Pokemon obsession for the same amount of time.

    I had a yaoi obsession for four years, but now it's starting to fade since it seems to use some of the same unrealistic recycled bull-bull.

    I'm still currently obsessed with Sailor Moon. That one's never going to fade it seems.

      If you're bored of the usual yaoi formula, you should try Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai (Twittering Birds Never Fly) or Crimson Spell. Both are very different and super awesome.

        But before I read them, I must ask: do they have non-con situations? I'm not really fond of those situations in yaoi.

          No problem.
          Crimson Spell does at one point (though at least it's not treated as the "rape=love" sort of thing) and Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai is centered around characters who have experienced terrible things such as that - but it also explores the psychological affects of such events, rather than play it for eroticism and then sweep it under the rug afterwards. It's much darker than Crimson Spell, which takes place in a fantasy world with magic and dragons. :P

    Depends...

    Animes: few months-few years (Years... I'm like that)
    Movies: few weeks-one month (Normally gets old for me)
    Shows: Look at Anime (Maybe a bit shorter)
    Music: Few weeks-couple months
    Type of Style: I don't get it... Which genre?

    My main obsessions are, of course, anime and manga. I'm not sure if this is manga but I also like this girl's art. Look up Ceshira on Tumblr.

    Sorta depends. When I was 11, I was obsessed with a boyband for 3 years. My most recent obsession with Leonardo Dicaprio has been going on for a few months now and it should prolly last for at least another year or so..

    It depends. I've been a Marvel fan for nearly 3 years now, and I don't see myself losing interest anytime soon. I believe that it has something to do with how well I can understand or sympathize with the characters.

    I have an ongoing obsession since I was 18. I really want a boobjob. I think about it every day, all the time. Its so unhealthy how much it occupies my mind.
