How long is the longest you've gone without a shower?

Aside from the swimming pool, about 2 months. I was a dirty little kid, hehe.

7 Days. I was in Army Basic Training, and we went camping out in the woods for a week.

Does bathing in the river count?

A day :( I'm a wreck if I don't shower.

This isn't the kind of information that I normally like to share because of how bad it makes me look, but I had a rough couple of weeks detoxing off of opiates and there was no way in hell you could've gotten me out of bed, let alone in the shower.
Also, I've heard from other people that being on Methadone makes people react to water kind of like cats. I've definitely found this to be true for me. When I was on the clinic, I detested water, especially in the shower -- for some reason it felt super uncomfortable.

Of course I showered anyway, but God did it feel bad. Odd.

I was camping. At the time it seemed okay. When we reentered society, it was shameful.

Two weeks or longer. I was depressed and hadn't left the house at all in about a month anyway, so there was no point to me.

D of E, 30 degree heat, 7 hour trek to the campsite, no sleep, 5 hour trek back. Not pleasent.

Five days is nothing. Obviously none of you have ever gone survival camping. Besides, in the old days, even the upper class went weeks without washing. This obsession with hygiene is an unnecessary modernity.

Excess hygiene is giving us allergies and sensitivities, immune problems, skin problems, and more. Don't take my word for it though, read the studies. Showering daily is NOT good for you. We only do it because we want to look and smell our best everyday. But the truth is, the only reason you smell bad and get oily after one day without washing is BECAUSE you wash so often in the first place. Your skin and scalp produces much more oil when it is constantly dried out with hot water. Your skin reaches a new equilibrium when it gets used to being cleaned less frequently.

Soap and shampoo companies want you to believe you need their products like food and air. Some of the people you might be attracted to right now might be using dry shampoo and showering weekly or bi-weekly. You'd never know because they'd have stopped having serious body odor, hair, and skin problems.

Don't be a pussy, try it out before you reject it. Go survival camping or something for two weeks without a shower, you'll see, you'll feel just as dirty as if you didn't shower for two days. You don't build up a thick layer of filth on you XD In Europe, you'd all be laughed at for how often you wash...

Im surprised how many really answered 5 days.

The only reason to not shower is if you're camping and there are no facilities, sick, or homeless. Other than that, no excuse for not cleaning your ass.

1 day, if my memory serves me.

3 months when I broke my leg in 6 places and had to "birdie bath" and my mom had to wash my hair in the kitchen sink because I could not get up the stairs to our bathroom. Let me tell you, when I finally got that damn cast off and was able to crawl up the stairs and sit on a shower chair... I spent like 3 hours in there the first time :)

3 weeks and proud of not taking a shower for that time, why do i need a shoer if i have the beautiful ocean 30 meters far from where i sleep...

Ive gone with like 3 weeks without, while in the hospital, but I did sponge bathe, doesnt help much tho.

After me and my ex broke up I went a week-2 weeks. I didn't care; I was just too depressed to care about my looks. Over a year later, I go 2 days on occasion (when my work schedule is hectic) but I try to shower every day. :)

i have spent 15 months without taking a shower :P ofcourse i didnt go outside xD

Longest was about 4 days, because I was too lazy to shower. Strangely I didn't smell like a garbage dump during all those days.

3 days my first finals week in college. But I didn't sleep for 3 days either.

A few years ago I went on a trip with my BF and we were staying in a hotel. we ddecided to go explore and we endeed up getting lost for a day! We were stupid not to take any food although we had water. When we finally found our way back to our hotel HUNGRY-TIRED-DIRTY....

i go about 3 weeks till my hair feels wet to touch then im like ffs have to fucking shower now but i just dunk my head in the sink and rub with towel. I live a druggie artist life style there really is no need to shower all the time just be grubby man its sexy!

I took my first shower when I was like 11 lol. Before that I took baths. I guess that's a pretty long time.
