How many beers would you need to drink a day to be called an “alcoholic”
I’d say 8 or more a day—You’re on the verge of being a real alcoholic!! What about what do you think?

Not so much a number that labels one.
I think when someone HAS to have alcohol each day is when they are an alcoholic.
There are of course the functioning alcoholics who hold down jobs and act normal most of the time.
I think when people think of alcoholics, they think of the obnoxious ones who act stupid or HAVE to have a drink all the time, kind of like my brother's girlfriend.
AND in case drat sees this - no I am not the OP and no, my brother's G/F is not actually some dude. Sorry to ruin your hard-on.
Now me - I drink maybe 12 beers in a year's time.
That's a good question. I've often thought of that myself. I used to be a heavy beer drinker. If I had beer in the house, I couldn't leave it alone. I would say that might define an alcoholic. As I've gotten older, I can still drink a lot, (I'm not bragging. That's nothing to be proud about), but I can go days, weeks, or months without any desire to drink. I guess if drinking becomes more important to you than work, family life, your overall health and wellbeing, then you might have a problem. But if a person drinks 8 beers after golf league every week, that's not. Just my opinion.
If you need it to function every day you're an alcoholic, it doesn't matter how much you drink.
Why beer? Beer isn't shit. My bf can drink whole cases of the stuff and stay sober as ever but put a couple bottles of whiskey in him he gets drunk
