How many books do you normally read?

Do you read one book, cover-to-cover, before you start the next?

OR

Do you have several that are all a "work in progress" because there are just too many good books out there to choose only one at a time?

i dnt read no buks :-} 25
Just one at a time for me, thanks. I have a busy life. 39
Usually, two. It's a hobby. 12
Three. I'm addicted or being punished, or both. 12
Four. I'm so awesome. 1
Five. I'm a smart mo-fo! 1
More than five. It's all that I ever do, really. Evil genius. 13

I only read one at a time, but not because I don't have the time for more, it's kind of an OCD thing. But I read all the time, I try to read at least five books a weeks, when I'm too busy to read more.

I only read one at a time. But I'll read about 2 -3 books per week if I'm in the mood.
    I'm a fast reader.

Two to five at a time. Otherwise I can't focus. I get too involved and it kinda seeps into real life...if I read several, it's diluted.

  • About 2 a week, one at a time. I can't stand reading 2 or more books at once, because then I get the plots/characters mixed up.

One at a time, with fiction, otherwise I can't distinguish between the two stories in my head.

With non-fiction I usually just read whatever my obsession is at that time and I read every book I can find on it at once.

I usually read one at a time, but I have been known to read as many as two or three simultaneously. It gets confusing sometimes. I usually always read the books all the way through though if I like them.

Three, normally. A favorite. A not-so favorite, but still want to read it anyway. A reference book of some sort.

I tend to read one fiction and one non-fiction such as a biography or history at the same time.

I usually have two books going at once. One fiction and the other is usually instructional/educational. I love to read :)

One at a time. I can't keep track off all the characters if I have more than one going. Even if I only have two, I get sucked into one which becomes my "main book", and the time spent reading the other book is wasted because I'm only thinking about the main book.

At the moment I'm only reading books for school, and I have two of those going.
