How many of you feel this way

If they are 'spreading the word' because they genuinely think the world is coming to an end and want to give us the greatest chance of entering heaven, it's done with nobel intentions, and, whilst I disagree with that kind of scaremongering, worse things could come through my letter box.

I have Jehova's Witness come by all the time. I will let them in and debate them. That is quality entertainment where I am from.

I don't get mad about it because I think that they think they are doing good.

lI don't necessarily see sharing of literature on one's doorstep as "shoving it down my throat" because I have never felt offended or anything of that manner by a piece of paper on my door that I'll just throw away. I'm not that easily bothered or phased. Far more annoying or worse things can and do happen to me in a day. If I sweat the little shit then I'd be on heavy meds right now, I'd need them to get through the day. I don't know how some people live like that.

That said, I think that is bad PR and many churches know it and don't "advertise" that way. The fact is that if one truly wishes to tell their religion, they must do so lovingly and in a gentle manner as well. People don't like feeling coerced into any sort of belief or practice. Very poor tactic on the part of the church and I would not go there. That is highly reflective of a church's inner practices.

I'm HIGHLY annoyed by these type of people, any of them. I don't care WHICH religion you're touting, you have no right to trespass on MY property and shove your pamphlets down my throat! I mean shit... I haven't responded the first nine times, what makes you think this time is any different?! Fuck... :P

I don't blame you for being angry, absolutly what if a little child had picked it up and seen it. It would have frightened the life out of them. Fair enough we're allowed our beliefs and views, but people should not force their belifs on other people. xx

I'm a very spiritual person and consider myself a devout Episcopalian Christian, but there's never a reason to push your beliefs on other people or insinuate that people who don't think the same way you do aren't good people. God would never approve of that.

The people leaving the books/pamphlets may likely feel they are being less pushy by leaving something at/under your door instead of trying to get you into a discussion with them if youre not interested. They probably feel they are giving you a chance to learn something important and don't want to leave you unwarned of coming trouble, etc, but with the choice to throw it out if you dont want to read and consider it. Personally I'd much rather have a pamphlet left for me to look at (or not) than a person banging on my door and trying to get me in a discussion of their beliefs. Many of them mean well. . .Just saying.

i believe in god but somebody sending to families that dont believe in god are all going to die in the bible in states that he is all forgiving so why would he kill everybody who does not believe.

I'm not a religious person but religious people do not annoy me. Posting leaflets through your private property about their beliefs can feel like your privacy is being invaded.
But at the end of the day, there are so much more annoying things on this planet than silly little pieces of paper which can simply be put in the bin. Simple solution to a simple problem. Put it in the bin, get on with your day.

The worst one of these I saw was sold to me by a 'Christian' who said it was to support 'all the little babies in Africa'.

It was filled with vile stuff including how AIDS is a punishment to gays from god.

This sort of stuff ought to be illegal. And it was in the name of religion!

It's annoying, and it's disturbingly cult-like the way they try and collect people to join them. You just know it's going to be the most venerable members of society who fall for that bollocks, too :(

If this happened to me, it wouldn't disturb me. It's just a piece of paper and they are exercising their right to free speech. Besides, they probably would only walk up to my door, put the pamphlet in, and walk back out. It's not like they're going to be standing in front of my house spouting religious nonsense.
