What do you count as a 'visit'?
If you had a stopover at an airport, flew over another country, never left a harbour, or were turned back at the border, for instance, does this count as a 'visit' to another country?
Almost everywhere. . Well, not everywhere.. I'd still love to visit Japan and have tea under sakura tree.
The Netherlands (that's where I live), Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain and Germany. Those are all the countries I've been so far.
145 including almost every country in Europe, the Americas and the South Pacific.
Its been about 5. The Bahamas, Canada, England, France, Italy and the vatican. So, its actually 6 but I guess by default I always want to forget that I went to The Vatican. *Shudders*
When I was in Roma, I felt the overwhelming feeling of being watched/dread. This feeling, to my surprise, intensified the moment I reach the premisses of The Vatican. It was either because of that previous pope or it was the Vatican as a whole. The day I was in the airport to leave Roma and go back home, the remaining members of the tour came in contact with a nun. Again, I filled with a sense of dread. This woman also had a frightening walking stick. There was something serpentine about the handle. Some of the members in the group, my relatives included, struck up conversation with this woman, She was so creepy. She had an unnaturally saccharine voice and the way she adoringly went on about the then pope was sickening.
My parents liked to scrimp and scrape for cheap package holidays so I've been to more places than I normally would have been to on my own. However they were always Britishified locations so it didn't really feel like I was abroad except for the weather.
Well, Spain was an exception and more recent too. It was a nice pleasant area with a relaxing atmosphere. No drunks hollering in the streets.
I've lost count. Let me try to recall;
Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Oman, Egypt, Russia, Poland, Germany, Spain, England, The Azores, Barbados, Bermuda, Antiguia, Monserrat, Puerto Rico, Aruba, St. Croix, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina and Chile.
I think that's it.
Huh..your text disappeared.
I grew up in St. Croix. Spent much of my childhood there. I live in Iowa now.
The only thing I miss is sailing. Many of my fondest childhood memories were spent crossing the Caribbean, jumping from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda in a 20ft sloop.
I've been to Britanny in France and Prague in the Czech Republic. I miss Prague.
Nine, if you count countries I've been driven through on the way to another country and countries I've only been in the airport of. If you don't count that, then seven. More than that if you count the separate countries that make up the UK, but I usually don't.
Exuding the US (which I usually count because I've seen a good chunk of it.) have been to 16 countries. Although a couple were very brief encounters.
