Zero, cause I’m not a lil weenie boi who needs to block people. I’m blocked by 2 users
you could also find out if you go on any post and use Incognito mode to exactly find out who blocked you.
When you log out you can see all of their comments and their posts - but when you log in the comments and posts disappears.
Gets rid of the whole “anonymous” aspect of the site to be honest
I cant downvote anymore. Not that I would downvote someone for their opinion. Only when they are un-needingly rude
How many times should I upvote you in order to make the algorithm allow you to downvote again?
Or doesn't it work like that?
The algorithms seem to tally down-votes separately. If you receive too many down votes and/or give too many downvotes to others, you’ll lose the privilege. It only comes back by consistent but moderate upvotes from a variety of users over a long time period.
Algorithms determine your upvote limit. But, the mods have to approve reestablishing down vote ability.
None, but I'm blocked by a few. Ellena (70-something ex-hooker) would be one - she was complaining about her daughter and I explained why her daughter was angry at her. She didn't like that.
A gm at a store I was working at was telling me about why her kid's school sucks and how he's in trouble for nothing. He had his mask off in school and his reason was that he was walking through a courtyard, where they didn't have to wear masks since it's outside, and he forgot to put it back on. And she's really mad at this school saying all sorts of things because he ended up getting suspended
Me "forgetting my place" as she would put it, I with obvious confusion asked "Isn't the solution here just to pull the mask down for walking less than four minutes"
Like she's raising hell over this and I had this thought like, "if you just realize *this* you wouldn't be mad/ you could teach your son an important life lesson"
But that sure was a mistake, let me tell you that. When an alpha super mom with an ego complex complains about something, you better just agree
She commented 3 days ago. She probably has you blocked for non-compliance of her agreeability policy.
Actually, I just saw one of her comments. Well, it's good to know there's no hard feelings there I guess.
I think I probably need to delete this thread, because on some levels it feels too much like gossip, and I want to be mindful, and respectful of this person. Even if this person, and I don't agree on matters of religion, and or adult entertainment, or sex work I do in fact respect, and appreciate her willingness to be honest with us here in this forum about her life experiences; besides I'm relatively sure that we probably agree on matters of victims/survivors rights, and advocacy. For example, I really, and truly despise the way the justice system all over the world will allow defense attorneys to attack victims/survivors of rape, sexual assault with claims that they were attacked, because of what they were wearing, or not wearing for that matter.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Conspiracy theorists get tiring, but I tolerate them. However, Denialists are hopelessly ignorant and truly horrifying. They get blocked.
Denialism is not about what, it’s about a mental process by which certain people think. Here is the definition from Merriam-Webster. (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/denialism)
Definition of denialism
: the practice of denying the existence, truth, or validity of something despite proof or strong evidence that it is real, true, or valid
Examples:
This depressing tale is the latest incarnation of denialism, the systematic rejection of a body of science in favour of make-believe.
— Debora MacKenzie
He [Henry Puna] said climate change denialism jeopardised the future of Pacific countries: "Some are not willing to accept the stark realities."
— Ben Doherty
The problem of vaccine denialism is closely tied to the problem of information and authority in the digital age. People prone to skepticism can cover themselves with layers of pseudo-science and conspiracy theories that thicken and harden like papier mache.
— Michael Gerson
Getting accurate information across in the face of this science denialism is something of a minefield, as there is evidence that attempts to correct misinformation may backfire, further entrenching the beliefs of science deniers instead.
— Cathleen O'Grady
None.
I think if you block users then you’re too much of an asshat to be here in the first place.
I certainly agree. But recognizing that asshats are a continuing problem, why not lock them in cages for display in an online zoo?
Blocking partially accomplishes this goal. Unblock them occasionally when you’re in the mood for a food fight.
People need conflict to grow.
Picking and choosing is just like the “safe space” bullshit, it actually makes those who support it weaker.
Point taken, but it's also like picking a television channel. That's why I subscribe to TommyThe Caty. You heckle the issue just enough to make trolls want to improve their game.
That’s right. To dissect and agree/disagree with a trolls statement, almost pseudo seriously. It forces them to either have discussions they didn’t want to have in the first place, or fail the troll. They have no choice, just trying to win against my fake argument means they fail, and walking away from it means they fail.
Fight fuck or hit the fence, which is also made of fuck trololol.
IMHO, top notch trollmanship is about distant thunder. The content is just slippery enough that you can't get a hold of it, but it bothers you for hours. Fake arguments prompt other slippery but unpleasant responses. There were a couple expert level trolls a few years ago. They're gone. I'm guessing they got bored and declared victory.
I used to block users that made repetitive posts. It was futile since blocking them only ensures that they can't see me or my posts and I can't see their answers to posts. I was still able to see their repetitive posts. I unblocked them all since it was pointless.
From what I remember, I'm blocked by a small amount of LGBT members on here. They thought because I'm bisexual I'd agree with their extremist viewpoints. XD
1. Good idea.
2. Two issues: the truth helps those in denial of the correlation. The truth does not help the girls with refusal skills to fight the coercion. Your opinion needs to fill that void.
3. This argument that casual sex isn't a problem is exactly the same argument that is used by proponents of legalization. Well run secure brothels in Amsterdam and Nevada have zero problems with assault, rape, or molestation. The girls push a hidden button if needed, and security is there in 30 seconds.
I'm relieved that your anger is not satisfied by Islamic beheadings. Sexual repression feeds incels, incels feed martyrs, martyrs become heroes. Maybe a lap dance on payday would be an affective means of avoidance.
4. You make an important point here. I would like to see the truth expanded to include data on effective avoidance of coercion. Your issue needs traction. Pragmatic people are looking to you for that direction. You'll be much more convincing if you have it.
Okay, if you honestly think this, you have a TON of explaining to do.
1. Why don't you advocate counseling for molestation and abuse of children?
2. Of course sex work in predatory in nature. What are you going to do about it?
3. You would never go to a bar to get casual sex. What about the cognitively dissonant, emotionally scarred people who are attractive enough to get sex for free, picked up at bars? Should they be executed with a golden axe for the glory of Allah?
4. How does your truth fix the problem. Yes, it is true. But, until you propose a few solutions, your whining is nothing more than lack of initiative.
Yes, that opinion would have done it. A porn star is a dangerous job, but some women accept the risk in exchange for the extra money, and the freedom of expression. Commercial fishing, and high voltage linemen have similar risks of death. The comment about abused, neglected, and molested children places blame on the victims (the girls). So, that sentence makes many people shudder.
Thing is that your opinion is pretty normal. If you clean up the language to acknowledge adult consent with full knowledge of occupational risks, you sound as if you recognize the real issues from a balanced perspective.
I have one person blocked due to his attitude towards me. I do not know how many have blocked me and I care even less as that's their problem not mine.
"His" attitude? Making assumptions there aren't we? With that comment and your handle i woukd say you are , very much, a certain type of person and perhaps have a problem with men in general :0
I have no problem with men whatsoever and you know nothing about me so you're the one making assumptions and what the hell has my handle got to do with anything?
None at the moment unless I ultra pissed them of to a point they resort doing so.
I only have one person blocked and that's only because they usually have nothing to add to the conversation but pointless name calling.
I currently have zero people blocked, i'm the one currently blocked by 1 person lol.
