No need to hide doesnormalmatter... We know you can bench press more than anyone else on here. XD
Personally, I can bench press about 95-100kg and I'm 1.85m. I'm 102kg (last time I checked). As for pushups I always do 20-25 a day as morning exercise.
If I push myself I'd probably do 40 pushups. I know... I'm out of shape and fatter than I should be and should lose a few kilos, but I don't really got the time.
Back when I was in 12th grade, I was 83kg and had lots of free time to go to the gym, buff up and get a six pack, I could bench press about 110kg.
So how much can you bench press? And how many pushups can you do?
Nope it's me, I dont even think he's on this site anymore. My best was about a year ago, I did 112.5kg at 78kg bodyweight. I stopped going to the gym for a while and just started again 2 weeks ago and id say I can probably do about 95kg now but I'm regaining my strength pretty quickly. I dont know how many pushups I can do in one go but I usually do sets of 20 and about 3-5 sets over the course of a day.
I once benched 100lbs, probably can't do that now, but but maybe. My kid is 55lbs and I can carry him still.
I think strength training is mostly pointless. Just do actual work. I like to switch sides when I garden to get an even workout. My progress is reflected in the vegetables.
I do powerlifting type training, it helps me a lot as I live in an area with lots of steep hills and I cycle most places. Before I started I could barely walk up a hill without getting sweaty and out of breath but with stronger legs it's now effortless.
But just regularly walking the hill will have the same effect, just a slower process, I imagine.
45 pushups at 215lb is pretty good, I reckon you could probably bench more than that, maybe your technique could be improved
I weigh around 165LB (75.2KG) and with a height of 5.6fft (172CM) and i can bench around 352LB (160KG). You can bench even more with time. I'm a regular at the gym and pretty toned up and ripped. When i started i couldn't lift shit. But since the last two years i have improved. You need to mix up the workouts and add some strength training into your workout to improve the weight. As for the pushups i don't really count anymore. I can do more than 100 non stop. I usually put on weight on my back when doing pushups as doing 100s is not convenient.
I weigh 70 kg and I bench 65. Haven't benched since the gyms closed due to corona though
When I was much younger and working out a lot, I could bench 350#. I weighed around 240-250 at the time. But having played football, I was working out a lot! Can’t do probably 150 now and I’m down to 189 pounds.
I'm 6-6, 265, and maxed out at 5 reps of 345. I know only do reps (4 set 0f 10-12) with my body weight.
I'm currently 185 pounds and have only one arm that I could use to do push ups or bench lifting. Back when I was 165 and had to arms to do the job I could do 60 push ups or 4 rounds a 40 reps with around 75 pounds at once and double that count a day without feeling any pain or something the next day.
Now, after one and half a year without any training, after an accident and weight gain due to sickness I expect to be able to only do half or quarter of what I could do in the past. But I've not tried so far, I might be wrong.
EDIT: Just tried it. 20 push ups and 40 times 44 pounds can be lifted until my wrecked arm hurts too bad. Guess, I shouldn't have done that. ^^
When I was 21 and weighed about 200, my one rep max was 345. Also was able to do 50 pushups in two minutes. Yeah, the military loves pushups.
Today, I would be doing good to bench even 135. I haven't trained in 20 years. I look like I could still put up 345 but it ain't happening.
I have not bench pressed or done push-ups for such a long time I cannot answer what I used to do.
Currently all that really matters is that I can pick up and carry 1 laughing/squealing exited - or hugging kissing excited lady to wherever I want to... ;)
Who needs to do more than that?
Note: I do allow you to the same freedom with whomever your partner type is as well...
The most I ever benched was 315 when I was 18 years old and I tried to max out. Before doing that I hadn't benched pressed in over a year and I did pushups all the time. I was at a friends house he had a bench and I decided to give it a try. At that time when I did pushups I'd do sets of 80 or 100.
I can carry but not lift up to 160lbs I weigh 135lbs. I can lift albeit barely and assuming I'm not tired up to about 110. But benching and junk I've never done that. Holds no real life value in my eyes. And it certainly doesnt strengthen my bow arm
A wide grip bench press would actually be very useful for archery in my opinion. The main cue is to "stretch" the bar.
Wrong muscles. Show muscles do nothing for an archer. Kettlebells and dunb6ells are what you need
If you bench like a powerlifter rather than a bodybuilder, it uses different muscles. Bodybuilders deliberately use their pecs and shoulders while a powerlifting style bench press is mainly about static strength in the upper back. I'm not saying it should be your main exercise but I bet if you added 10kg to your bench press with a wide grip and a very light touch on the chest you would notice an improvement in your archery.
