How much do you donate to charity each year

I don't donate, but I did do some volunteer work when I was younger.

we donate by giving them cloths and stuff to wear and food to eat we can't afford to give them any money tho.

I donate the equivalent of $500 a year and think it's way too little. It comes in at one percent of my gross salary and that one percent is shared between ten charities. Giving a thousandth of my income to a charity seems like a slap in the face.
