I want to work for 40 years, have five year’s of retirement, than die around 70.

  • I said 80's, but depending on how my life is going, I'm open to an untimely death via euthanasia (suicide).

no. I know this sucks, but I bet people depend on you and love you. If you are in the hospital I mean the choice is yours, but if not and you are not so bad off you should probably stay for them. I am sure there are people who are not wanting to let you go.

      • If I had people or animals depending on me, i wouldn't clock out.

There's people who'd be sad if I died, but if life was horrible, they'd just have to deal.

Can't say an age, it deepends on mental and physical health and overall contentment.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Hard to attach a number to this as many factors come in to play.

i am so recluded as well. just try to be here for other people. treat them right if you can regardless of how old you are. sadly enough you cannot let go for the sake of others. life is not so bad that it would not be for yourself, as well.

As long as my health holds out. I don't want my last several years to be ill and maybe have dementia or alzheimer's. As long as I am healthy and pass away in my sleep its all good.

I always want to die first, so I will not have to deal with others' deaths, but then I think would it not be nicer to stick around for other people that love me? Then I think who the hell loves me? just kidding. Life is one big dilemma.

I've been working (in the USA) since I was 16 years old, and I retired early last year at the age of 60. Life is good, and I anticipate life will be even better (easier) once I start collecting social security. But I don't want to live past my 80s. I don't want to be ill or crippled and unable to enjoy life like I do now.

I am certain that some people are fine after 80. It just depends.

Yes, some do. I don't want to be one of them. Is that ok with you? Great - thanks!

  • You clearly don't live in England as you would have no chance of retiring at 65, at least not with a pension. Even so working backwards your maths don't add up. If you die at 70 after 5 years retirement, that means retiring at 65. If you work 40 years then you don't start working until your 25 so WTF are you doing between leaving education and reaching 25?

Prolly living at home and wasting parent's money on college.

You *want* to work 40 years?! Wow... I should hire you at my company! I want to make quick cash and retire as soon as possible and spend my days admiring my businesses, tinkering on cars and drinking Chivas Regal with family and friends.

I want to live until I'm at the age where I'm too feeble to take care of myself anymore, needing to be fed, bathed, can't go to bathroom myself anymore, then it wouldn't be worth it. Most importantly, I don't want to die before my parents do, I don't want them to have to go through that, and it's against the natural order.

50 is so young. people care and depend upon you to stay. Someone's life hangs on your health and safety. You cannot let them down. Stay here for as long as you can.
