I am twenty years old and I still break out really bad. I expect some people to get a pimple here and there sometimes regarless of their age. How old were you when you stopped getting pimples/acne and major breakouts?

I never really got pimples. I had a benign tumor blocking the pituitary gland in my brain. So, I don't really get hormones. No periods either.

I've always gotten them, it just took me awhile figure out how to control them. Face scrub with salicylic acid and polymer beads (for scrubbing), loofah pad for the rest of me. (Yes, it is like human sandpaper and works really well but sanding one's face with a loofah is not pleasant, hence the scrub.)

I hate all of those people who said they never had acne. Unfairness. I still get a break out even though I'm supposed to be past that phase now, especially after I've eaten chocolate even though that theory is meant to be a lie.

it is not a lie... it happens to me too . it might not be chocolate but the sugar. Some people get acne into their 60s!

I never really had major skin problems, but I did get a blemish every now and then. I stopped eating meat, and processed food. That helped for some reason... not sure why. Cut down on the sugar as well :p

I hope I'll soon be able to answer that question. Right now I've still got pretty persistent acne (I'm 19)

  • It's funny, 'cause I never broke out after my first pimple in the fifth grade. Now, as a young adult, I get them all the time... You know what? Nevermind, it's not funny at all.

Go and get a free consultation from a dermatologist and treat accordingly, dont buy their products or you will be so broke. They told me I have really oily skin (which I didnt think I did) so I went with the 3 step oily skin system from Clinique and after a month, my break outs stopped ~ use all oil free products (including foundation, and especially moisturizer) - I use oil free foundation from Lancome - so far so awesome!

I had break outs of acne from about 12 years old. It was very frustrating because i put a lot of effort in to try and clear my skin but every time my skin would start to get clear i would break out again :(. My skin got a bit better in my older teens but not much better i mostly covered it with makeup which didnt help then I went on the pill at 18 and after about 6 months i started noticing a major difference. Im 19 now and iv got basicly clear skin i rarely break out and even then the breakouts are not very noticable, iv been on the pill maybe 9 months now i think. If your a girl and your break outs are hormonal like mine were maybe the pill might work for you? I think there is a male equivalent for the pill a friend told me, that would balance your hormones out if ur a guy, which your doctor could prob tell you about.

I recommend that you use Murad products. They work great. Just go to www.murad.com and you can purchase a 30day Acne Kit. You will notice big difference after 4 weeks of use. It helped me a lot. It costs $29.99 and it's worth it. I also found out about Nicholas Perricone. Google him up. He makes products for skin. It's more pricey then Murad, but it also guarantees great results. Good luck.

I'm 48 and still get them. It's a matter of hormones, sweaty glands, and other sources of bacterias getting onto your skin. Cause your own bacteria won't cause you pimples.

  • That's normal man my cousin had the same problem at that age. You should seek out some really good treatment product and it will clear up the worst of it.
