How should i plan to change jobs?
I've decided to change jobs. I was getting overtime working at different stores and it's getting too unreliable to maintain hours
I kept UPS as a backup plan, but there are no openings right now. I found a warehouse that pays like 16 an hour that purportedly lives offering overtime. I want to apply and do a two week notice, but I want to make sure I budget myself correctly
All my bills for this month are paid, I already got my stimulus. I have two more checks this month and rent and car payment for next month I already know will need to be paid for out of these checks. Ultimately though, I'll have about 1700 in bills for February
I still need to apply and I'm gonna give a two week notice. I'm also gonna be getting a couple detox kits and a drug test (to make sure it works)
But I don't wanna start and wind up behind
Originally I was hoping to use this upcoming check for personal stuff, but due to my sudden uncertainty I'm unsure of what I can or should get. I think I can set up private dental insurance still and work on my teeth. I'm unsure if I can still get a cat. It's weekly pay at the warehouse so I'll only have to wait two weeks for a check instead of a month which is nice
I can probably calculate this out when I get home, but it's slow at the store I'm working at now so I figured I could get some perspective
My last check this month should at least basically cover rent on the first at least, then I need to pay my car payment out of the next check I guess and save the rest, but I think I would only need to do it like that if I was starting in like a week or so.
Since I'm so caught up, would it be possible to use this money to get some things? Originally planned on using this check for a cat (400 bare minimum), start dental insurance (it said 45 ish per month, not sure if there are up front costs or anything like that), fix my car up some (I think they said a couple hundred for brakes but I think he coulda overestimated to try to hurry the call), and some household stuff like a toaster oven, crock pot, glasses, silverware, plates or whatever
Maybe I can plan it like, get some of this stuff I need and then pay bills early again like I did last month and get ready to change jobs. If I do lose hours I can go back to selling plasma which I haven't had time for because I have been getting decent hours, which would definitely help
I do wanna get this cat and dental work started, my teeth are starting to hurt again and I really want a cat if I'm gonna be like stuck at home for a few days to recover (lotsa extractions)
I can definitely afford it all if hours are maintained, I was told this new manager at the store I'm currently at no call no showed his first day and apparently had a bad reputation from when he last worked here, so there may be overtime in my future over the next month or so
So maybe because even with 40 hours I can pay my bills and use plasma to pay for gas and food I can get some essentials and take my time changing jobs
Or maybe I should apply quickly and stuff because I'm already caught up, but it will probably be at least a month until I can get to this point and like I said, my teeth are hurting again, I want a cat, there are essentials I can get
