How to repair flash drive which can't be formatted by windows and othe

I have a 16GB flash drive which is 3 years old. It is mainly used for transferring data between company desktop and home laptop, both computer running Window 7.last night, it failed to work! when I double click it to open it in My Computer as usual to resume working on the document. The flash drive reports an error "Please insert s disk drive ...." (can't remember exact words). I tried to format it but failed. Windows is unable to format it!!I downloaded some tools but still can't get it normal. can anyone help me repair it?btw, is it possible to restore files from the drive?

    its 2015 and 16 gigsa flash costs bout 16 bucks

    go git a new one and let this be a lesson concernin keepin yalls data redundant cause yalls shit is long gone

    Is it magnetic or solid state? First off, I'd try it on a different machine.

    Sometimes its possible to low level format it.

    usually does the trick.

    If it doesnt work, buying a new one is the cheapest way out.

    Warning: Low level formatting does not keep your files intact!

    I'm not 100% sure but I've had a USB-Stick that failed and I've tried to get it back to work for like a week and I've tried everything I found on the internet and nothing worked...

    Sorry to say this, but your chances are slim... I mean you may try all the countless things suggested on the internet to get it back to work, it might work...
