How to stop swearing all the time
Coming back from the military in a few months. How can I stop swearing like a sailor? I don't want to ruin a career if I make an unconscious use of swears.

It just comes from making a habit of thinking before you speak.
It can be hard but just something you learn.
Probably a good lesson no matter where you are or who is around.
Of course when on your own time or in "not so polite" company you can still let loose.
Saying things like "Christ Fuck it!" or whatever.
Just don't where it's not appropriate, you dumb fuck.
I swear all the fucking time...except at work because it I work with kids, and in other professional settings, because they're professional settings. It takes exactly zero effort.
Do you swear when you shop? Do your banking? Whatever?
If you can control yourself there, you can control yourself anywhere.
START CURSING IN LANGUAGE NO ONE UNDERSTANDS there COULD BE RUSSIAN, HINDI, OR URDU OR JAPANESE.
till the time you can control the cursing
like entschuldigung sound like curse but means "excuse me"
or vaffanculo in italian it means "F*** you"
my go to curses of all time and no one understands them
Just need to be careful and know where you are and who talking to. It's so normal and part of some people's daily speaking style, that they don't know they're doing it. One of my friends was in mortgage sales and did extremely well (before the crash), and even to his regional manager, would say things like "I make a lot of fucking calls..Just fucking call after fucking call".
Woman I was dating, while very beautiful, also had a habit of tossing it out. Granted, she was nervous at the time, but, met my sister once at a coffee place, for the first time, and while talking about a few things, repeatedly said "I'm like, fuck me up the ass!". My rather conservative sister cringed each time, and her view of the woman never changed. Hated her from that point on. Still does.
A bartender friend, whom I've known a very long time and is comfortable with me, is also a fan of the off-color and weaving a web of vulgarity. We just take it in stride as her being her.
