Whether we like it or not, the system is working overall. Chairman Mao fucked over a lot of people with his plans but successfully did exactly what he wanted it to.
China is great if you are a fan of modern day genocide, and organ harvesting.
China's social credit system is far, far worse than America's. This article describes how a student lost their position at a university because their social credit score was weaponized against them

I know that America has similar things, and the only reason I share that link is because I can't find another one I read a year or two ago about a man who had already bought a train ticket, made some very minor legal infraction en route to the train station (think jaywalking or slowing and rolling through a stop sign) and by the time he arrived at the train station, his ticket was already cancelled and security apprehended him
Maybe I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist, but I legitimately wouldn't be surprised if Google hasn't purged that story from search results specifically because there are so many people in western countries who insist China's system "isn't that bad" when in reality it's downright Orwellian
The only culture left in China is hustle culture. At least Japan is attractive to weebs or something. In China you can enjoy the smog, I guess.
Idk I feel like a culture that survives in this shit of a goverment might be warped to a serious degree.
The culture may have taken a hit from a historical standpoint, given how the government actively eradicated anything that could be construed as a relic of imperialism. From what I experienced when I lived there is that the current culture is that people are kind with a strong sense of community. Parents adored their child(ren) and while a lot of aspects of life do suck over there, people seem to cope knowing that they're not alone in it
Granted, that may have been mostly the places that I lived. I didn't live in any major cities (except one) or anywhere where there was a large expat community or many tourists. The big city I lived in, Shenzhen, didn't have that feel at all. It felt like every generic, overcrowded city
Theres things I like about China like how they invest in their kids but China is not a good place to live compared to the west. Overall its a strong country. It feels weird to call your rival country "great" but in many ways China is a great country.
China is a shithole to live in (just like the US) but for different reasons. Both places have shitty government, but at least the Chinese people are cool.
But at least you can live in the woods, theres still a life outside of the internet.
Yep bring that shit down! Any goverment that directly caused 120 million deaths shouldn't be in power.
what I find confusing is how CCP likes to denigrate the west and how they pay people who cannot even speak a single word of Chinese to spew out all this CCP fluff piece propaganda.
Oh wow did they raise the magical “CoMmUnIsM KiLlEd 100 MiLlIoN !!!!1!!1” people myth to 120 million already ?
God those communists are amazing.
https://youtu.be/AiH4oUq6Ge4
Ok then 100 million. Plus how ever many other ethnicities and groups the ccp personally killed.
Still a 100 million is abject failure. Oh those damn birds are eating crops, oh well I better get my priorities straight and kill them. Not even asking a scientist or something about possible repercussions.
No, the 100 million myth was supposedly the combined death of all communist countries, the book was complete fiction and debunked immediately and was written by a Nazi in response to a Soviet writing a book criticizing Fascism. Do you even try to research where you get your silly ideas ? Or do you just repeat memes ?
What groups and ethnicities, explain. Show me this “plummet” in the Uyghur population.
Actually, show me your Native American population Lloyd, since you care so much about history. And, history aside, did you know the average Native American life expectancy dropped 7 years just in the last 2 years ?
Not even asking scientists huh ? Like when American farmers tilled the ground to shreds and created the Dust Bowl which killed thousands and made 2 million homeless in a man-made famine ?
Trust the science, like how America let 1 million people die of Covid yet China let only 5 thousand ?
How many people has America killed in wars that weren’t theirs again ? And you speak of China as an aggressor. Show me the overseas offensive Chinese military bases again… I must’ve missed them
China is the leading nation for re-foresting efforts, the leading nation for more renewable energy useage, the fastest growing economy in the world, pulled 100 million rural residents out of poverty (There’s a REAL 100 million stat you can use !!), and is doing record-breaking production every single day.
Don’t be upset about it. We want the Chinese people to live well, don’t we ?
Some people have crap genetics, alcoholism is very prominent in the native american community, genetics at play there. Most have subsidizes from the goverment for schooling an integration.
How does russia treat its minorities? Oh yeah. Send them to the front lines with a unit to its rear to make sure they dont run home. Like dude its 2022. We got our racial shit mostly under wraps 60 years ago.
If I may interrupt, Kholat, yes I do want the Chinese people to live well.
Average I would say. And like everywhere there are people who are rich and can enjoy about anything and get away with almost anything and then there's the rest.
