I almost never turn off gps, bluetooth, wifi, data, etc. to save power
I keep hearing that one of the best ways to save power on mobile phones is to turn off GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, Data, etc. whenever you're not gonna be using them. Maybe I'm lazy but I never bother to do this because it ends up adding an extra step whenever I need to use one of the above forementioned services. I'd like my phone to connect to Wifi automatically whenever I come home or to work, without having to manually go into the Settings every single time. Or when I want to use a navigation app to help my driving, I don't want to have to spend a minute or two fumbling with the settings on my phone to turn on the GPS every single time. Even if I get an app that creates shortcuts to those settings, it still isn't good enough as I still need to remember to go into the shortcuts and manually turn one of those services on or off.
My general philosophy is that my smartphone exists to make my life easier. Having to remember to turn GPS and other services on and off before and after doing certain things and using certain apps isn't making things any easier, unless it ends up saving a tremendous amount of power (which it doesn't.)
My phone battery lasts slightly but noticably shorter than my friends with the same phone because I choose not to micromanage these settings, but I've rarely found myself in a situation where the phone battery has completely ran out over the course of a single day.
