Yes everyone does it usually to lighten the mood of a text it's not taken in a harsh way
It's normal(as in everyone seems to do it), but it is really annoying. It means you don't want to converse with the person, because you would add to the conversation or change the subject. How exactly is anyone supposed to reply to 'lol'?
I actually say "LOL" when talking and the end of my sentences sometimes, good for making awkward situations go away.
I know someone who does this... I have to say its a bit annoying being on the other end. Hes a very interesting guy in person, but you'd never guess it, because he always says lol after every comment. I think it should only be used if you're laughing in response to a joke, or to laugh at your own joke ie. 'I'm such a klutz and banged into my own foot, lol
lol.. that was not even unintentional... i am obsessed wit d word!!ive been sayin it 4 years n wen i first got with my boyfriend he kept sayin 'its not dat funny' lol n i say it a lot den think i wonder does ne1 actually tnk abt wat it means wen i say it unneccessarily its just like a silence breaker really wen uve nothin btr 2 say lol
Sometimes I say LOL in person instead of actually laughing. Text language has me fucked up in the head.
I think people do it just because they are being friendly...rather that or they haven't got anything smart to say it's really annoying I replace all lols with a smiley face :D
i wanna punch people in the face when they say LOL for no reason, or even for replacing laughter!don't even like it on the internet.
I hate that acronym... people just use it as filler. It would be terribly annoying to here someone actually utter it.
