I am not able to sleep at night.

And it is not possible to sleep during day. Basically I am not suffering from insomnia, but since past three months I am not able to sleep because something random happens at night. For example the ventilation was reversed tonight and my room was filled with garbage stink. Three months ago I moved to live with my parents and as this is a small house with a living room a bed room for my parents and another room where I teach (I help commerce students). So I have to sleep in living room which is not comfortable and as it don't have an independent ventilation it is not comfortable enough to sleep (We don't have air conditioners). I can't sleep anywhere else. I have spoken to my parents about it and they suggested me to wait for six months. probably they are working on a solution but my health is declining. I fear I will start having a mental disorder. Should I start taking sleeping pills? could you help me with a solution?

Try some herbal tea with some advice from the health shop. Also tire yourself out during the day with lots of exercise. Sleeping pills will work but NEVER get to rely on them as they can become addictive quickly.
Have a routine and a quiet place and know when you're in bed it's to sleep.
    Good Luck!

when you say random, do you mean various problems/distractions but that it always has to do with the environment you sleep in? Or random as in, sometimes it's the environment, other times it's physiological etc?

I'm really not a fan of advocating medication unless necessary. What about sleeping in a car? If you have a yard or something you could even buy a tent and sleep outside. Exercise and herbal tea (especially chamomile) are both great suggestions too.

Mostly it is environment. The living room is always hot and any added distraction becomes irritating. Sometimes the irritation and stress becomes physiological reasons too.
I will try Tea and the tent too.
      thank you.
