I am socially awkward and I tend to get anxieties especially when I'm on the spot light. I recently got a job interview from a corporate store and I did horrible. I got nervous and wasn't prepared. I'm the type of person that shows my work rather than using words.
Job interviews are hard for everyone, but especially if you're prone to anxiety. There's things you can try to help overcome it, like positive visualisation and meditation. If it's really holding you back, you could also try medication.
And be prepared next time! Do your homework. That way you can still make a good impression, even if you do come across as anxious.
I've always taken the attitude that I'm interviewing them just as much as they are interviewing me. After all, why take a job that you will hate and end up quitting anyway?
That at least puts you on equal footing with the interviewer, and asking questions of them does not hurt, rather it shows them you are interested enough to want things clarified.
