I analyze body language a lot?

I have recently realized that I tend to stare at people when interacting with them, and watch their body language very closely (eyes, position, small movements).

Is this normal? I do have an interest in psychology and am introverted, so it could just be that it's my way of learning about people.

Normal people take all that in straight off the bat without having to stare or analyse, it's just a common part of human interaction.

  • It's normal. I wish I was better at it because people say body language is used for communication. My communication is purely verbal.
I will say to be careful to not overanalyze, because I have seen that make people judgmental and paranoid. A lot of times people make judgments off body language they sound delusional to me because it seems they jump to conclusions.
I have experienced judgment myself because my expressions are often inconsistent with what I am thinking and I do not use typical expressions. For example it is pointed out to me that I look mad when I'm not, I smile at nothing, I often do not sit still, and basically do things for no reason. It gets very annoying when people try to analyze me. They might say, why are you mad? But I'm not mad, although I will eventually start getting angry when they keep questioning me.
I've had problems with police as well who accuse me of being intoxicated until they test me to find I was not. Very irritating to deal with peoples judgment.
