I broke up with my girlfriend

I recently found out my girlfriend has a high body count. I prefer clean girls, the "pure" kind, I guess you could say. I'm not really into girls that have a high body count, so I decided to break up with her. I saw no reason to stay in a relationship with someone I don't wanna be with. She called me an asshole and stormed out the house crying. This genuinely confused me, because I wasn't mean about it, and I don't know how not wanting to be with her automatically makes me a jerk. I told my friends about it, and apparently they also think breaking up with someone you're not happy with means you're an asshole. Actually, some of them still haven't talked to me. Even my own goddamn mother criticized me for it, which don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with giving someone criticism, but over this? They're making a big deal over something so small. I didn't want to be with a girl that was my type, so what? You shouldn't force yourself to be in a relationship with someone that is not your type so it is a bit concerning they're reacting like this, to say the least. Is it normal for this to be their reaction?

What is your body count compared to hers? I don't know if you yourself are a promiscuous person, but if you are you're a hypocrite for judging this girl by standards that you yourself cannot meet.

Sorry that I have a preference for clean girls and committed relationships. And not sure if I agree that "pure" is only an idea. Answer me this, why is that when a guy prefers promiscuous women and hookers, "Oh that's just your preference. You do you" is the response, but when a guy prefers girls with a fairly low body count he's a jerk?

    It is still a cruel judgement to place on a woman who likes sex. Nothing about that indicates she will cheat unless she has a habit of it. There is a thing called serial monogamy. And yes, your idea of clean and pure is an opinion. You can have safe sex and still be clean. You asked for opinions and I gave you mine. You may think you are being nice, but you insinuating the she is a whore. Liking sex doesn't make her a whore. Bedding a virgin isn't some great feat or goal that makes you noble.       If I don't like women that sleep with a bunch of of guys, then I don't like women that sleep with a bunch of guys. Once again, a preference of mine. I find it really interesting that if I were to be a guy saying that he broke up with his girlfriend because she's a virgin over his preference for women with a high body count, I bet your comment would be different. Matter of fact, I saw a post a couple of months ago where a guy stated he would instantly stop talking to a girl if she were a virgin. Nobody said anything. But god forbid I choose girls that have a low body count, I'm an ass. Yeah okay, dude. If she likes sex that much she sleeps with loads of guys, there is a possibility she'll have no problem cheating on me. I got shit to do, and don't really always have a boner. I'm not gonna be able to provide her with sex every time she feels horny, and in case you didn't know (clearly not), promiscuous women actually have a tendency towards cheating on their partners. Whore- "a woman who has many casual sexual encounters or relationships". Looks like you need to grab a dictionary, my friend.

If you’re not in love anymore, you’re not in love. Plain and simple. You should be able to walk away from a relationship at anytime.

Wanting a relatively pure partner in 2022 may be a rare find in some places, but you’re not an ass for having preferences.
