I can't keep my room clean, advice?

So I just turned 18 in April. When I was little my mom cleaned my room for me. But after that, I could never clean my room myself, it gets out of hand. Today I'm just getting finished cleaning after 3 days of cleaning. So I'd like advice on how to keep it clean. I do my laundry myself and I do have people over a lot. Comments WELL appreciated.

    Have guests over (preferably someone you like). For me, that's my nr. 1 motivation to clean things up. Hope this helps!

    I've never been able to get my room perfectly clean. My mother used to clean it if someone was coming over or if she got fed up with the mess. Now, it seems impossible to clean. I feel like I have more stuff than I do space. All of my book shelves are full so I have to put my books or magazines on random surfaces and my room isn't big enough to get a organizer>_< Small rooms are a curse! I can take out my trash and wash my clothes, though.

    You could try organizing things or pick a day to clean your room. Playing music can help the time to go more quickly. Perhaps ask for a little help from someone? Do your friends help to contribute to the mess? If so, ask them to clean up after themselves. There's always the option of getting a maid, but maids don't come cheap these days.

      I'm the OP, lol I'd LOVE a maid, but I'm 18 with my first job so obviously not an option haha. But yeah my friends totally contribute to the mess.

    Personally I never really have to "clean" my room. I vacuum, change the bedsheets etc. but my room is always tidy.

    It depends on my mood. Every once in a while I get into cleaning mode and clean until it's extremely neat, and then I just let it get dirty for a while. A good rule to clean your room is to rarely put anything on the floor, throw out all unused or useless items, vacuum and dust once a week, and keep your clothes in an organized area. Other then that, as long as you keep everything in neat stacks, your room shoulnd't look too bad.

    My room is a disaster.
    I can't find anything if I pack stuff away, so everything that I use often lies scattered on my desk.
    There's papers, books, stationery and PC parts lying around everywhere.

    My laundry usually goes to the laundry basket in my bathroom once per day and gets washed on weekends.
