I can't let go of my dog.

Is it normal that I can't seem to let go of my dog? We put him down over a year ago, and I still can't bring myself to change my phone's background from a picture of him. He was 15 years old and he'd been ill for a few weeks, so we knew it was coming. It wasn't at all unexpected, and he lived a good, full life. But I still can't seem to let go.

When you're ready you'll move on but you won't forget him: I know I won't forget my dog when she finally goes.

If you're worried about how long this is going on you could seek professional help: eg grief counselling

15 years is a long time.
It is completely normal to still have thoughts about him and remembering him.
I had a pet rabbit that died just yesterday of cold. He lived with us for 1.5 years but its like i just cant accept.
You should just think about the time he spent with you and most importantly he lived his full life with you and your family happily. And yes it will take sometime but time heals everything
