I can't watch horror movies, but i read horror stories

So my friends were watching this horror movie, and I didn't want to seem weak, so I said I'd watch, too. But I despise horror movies. I can't watch 'em. And if I do, then I can't fall asleep that night. But the strange thing is, I love both reading and writing horror stories. Maybe the movies are too graphic for me? I don't know. But I also read horror manga. So that can't be it. Please help me understand my 'situation'. (I wouldn't quite call it a problem)

    You sound a lot like me honestly. There are few horror movies I enjoy, and itms because they all seem to have that same “run away!” plot. When I watch a movie, I don’t wanna feel that. But idk, maybe it’s something else for you.

    I do like writing/reading horror stories though. It always seems to deliver a better “oo what happens next!” than a movie does. It’s probably because it’s only as visual as our imaginations allow us to make it.

    But, I do enjoy watching people play horrir games on youtube, that’s always interesting!
