I can tell if someone around me is a psychopath

I was raised by a parent who has Antisocial Personality Disorder and they were deviant in many ways. I know all the ins and outs of manipulation. I don't know if I should be thankful or not, for my paranoia of people. Anyone have any questions, please ask.

Anyhow, the first step to identifying a psychopath (from someone raised by one) is the eyes.
If you make eye contact with someone, and immediately you feel like a shiver go down your spine and don't ever want to make eye contact again, that person is a psychopath or killer. You will feel it. Also, note, psychopaths rarely blink. It is called the psychopathic stare. My parent and I both loved staring contests and we could go on forever,

If you look someone in the eyes and feel pity or empathy, there's a 100% chance that person has cancer

No, sorry to break it to you, but you wouldn't actually know if someone around you was a psychopath. Sometimes you might feel as though something is off, but the keyword here is sometimes. Living with someone who was a psychopath does not make you an expert.

Somebody that thinks they're an expert on psychopaths is diagnosing a stranger on the internet? How shocking.

All I say on my profile is minor sociopathic tendencies.

Dampened emotional state, I dont really know if I'm actually experiencing love as an emotion. Just shitty stuff to be aware of.

What's probably likely is I got alexithemia and that's a better outcome than just being sociopathic.

    I can't be a psychopath then, because I blink every 2 seconds cause it;s like a compulsion I have.

  • My parent was one...I grew up with it. So, yes, I've spent nearly every day learning.

And a psychopath doesn't always mean killer.

A “psychopath” is somebody who hits over 30 on the PCLR. It’s not a diagnostic term, it’s a gradient scale for research purposes.

Not all antisocial personality disordered people are over 30 on that scale, in fact majority are not. They are mostly career criminal types but still a far cry from the specific character traits that make up primary psychopathy. As such you likely were not raised by a psychopath, in fact it’s almost unheard of for them to stick around and raise any kid, even badly.

As for the non blinking, that’s crap also, it’s an automatic function. What you’re referring to is a fixed gaze, which all assertive people (good or bad) use. It’s not really a specific to psychopathic personalities.

The internet is filled to the brim with false pop psychology info.

My Mom claims she had a friend who was sisters with the “Charles Manson” Family? Or was a member of the Mansons.

Sure your dad was a psychopath. But he still had you.

Psychopaths are mildly better than sociopaths. Make better serial killers but great businessmen too.

Honestly, I think having a psychopathic personality can be useful in the business world.

I'd say most psychopaths go on to have normal lives. Psychopathy really isnt that rare. I dont think psychopaths are inclined for murder any more than the average person. I guess they got the in built response mechanisms to handle it if they did decide to.

Usually, they aren't. If a psychopath gets in trouble with the law, it'll be for something like fraud most of the time.

How did you conclude your parent was a psychopath?

    • They were diagnosed with anti social personality disorder by a psychiatrist. Of course, the osychiatrist was lying and/or didn't know what he was talking about.

My parent constantly lied, was manipulative, and broke a lot of laws.
