I cannot stand dvd case security seal stickers. iin?

DVDs, I rarely buy them now, but when I do, and for as long as I have bought them, I want to know what purpose the plastic sticky seal serves? Is it to mar up the case as it is removed? I'm sure dvd's can do without them. Is it normal for me to find this a pet peeve? Its one of the worst inventions ever, to me.

they have to make it like that to make it hard for people to steal them out of the package in the store.

I've never bought a film dvd. I watch movies on tv, at the cinema, online, etc...

Now I just lookup the movie on my tv's internet and stream it directly.
Too bad there are no 3d online movie sites. At least I don't know any.

I'm assuming they are to prevent (well minimise) DVDs being stolen from their cases.

To remove sticky residue from plastics, use WD40 or nail polish. But I'm pretty sure these security stickers are designed to leave not too much of the residue so I would you just rub it off with your finger and give it a bluff with a clean paper towel.

    • You have one of those 3D printers? Tech savvy dude! Does the downloaded car run on gasoline or a combination of energy sources?
