I cut myself during my breaks working at an ice cream store.

The customers cause me a lot of anxiety especially when they're condescending or angry. The only way I get relief is cutting myself on my breaks when my co-worker isn't looking. I work at a cold stone creamery. is it normal because customers are way more demanding than at other ice cream stores?

If you cannot handle working at an ice cream parlor, you're gonna have a tough, tough time in the real world.

I used to cut myself. I got help and anxiety meds and it worked out well for me. I'd suggest the same to you, I had deep seated issues causing me to behave the way I did and I suspect the same for you. The help you get only works if you let it.

Customer service jobs suck no matter where you go, but some are less stressful than others.

Cold Stone isn't just a ice cream parlor, it's a novelty. Not only do you have to uphold certain expectations, but you have to tolerate summertime customers; meaning they're hot, moody, and impatient.

My advice is the same as everyone else, you got to get professional help. Not only is it harming/dangerous, but bleeding around food is unsanitary. If you can't get help, then another suggestion would be to search up self-help guides to stop self-harm, and different ways to manage stress.

Also, Brusters or Ritas are good choices; because interaction with customers are limited due to being able to shut the little window; that way you can make the ice cream/Italian ice orders with no problem. Of course, you'll still encounter rude customers, but at least they're not going to be standing directly in front of you as you make their order.

You have some serious anxiety and self harm issues. Get help from someone qualified, like a doctor or a therapist. Don't ask advice from a group of complete strangers!

Seriously, if you have seen some of the posts here, the "baseline" advice seems to be "go have sex with a close relative, preferably one of the same sex. If that doesn't solve the problem, put peanut butter on your genitals and have a dog lick them off, while you eat poo (again, preferably from a relative of the same sex).

I comment where I have something I want to say. If I have not commented, either I had nothing to say on the topic, or my views were already effectively expressed by another poster.
