I didn't attend high school graduation

Is it normal that I didn't want to attend my high school's graduation? I actually ended up not going. Now... I am completely happy with this choice!
I didn't go mainly because I was and still am going through some depression and I never felt good enough about myself and I was disappointed that I graduated with a low GPA. Granted a 3.48 ish isn't that bad but it was at my school. My gf was really sad but I really didn't want to go. Now in college when I tell people this they all look very confused?!?!?!?

It seems like people on this site glorify antisocial behavior.

I didn't go either it was a massive popularity contest me and about 5 other mates got stoned and went out skating then clubbing, ( not a good idea everyone else is dancing and all I could think of was getting apizza and being wrapped up in bed).
If iI'm honest I regret it, truth is I was popular in high school ( fuck knows how I was bullied in middle school, clean slate I guess) then I started smoking weed which made my depression and anxiety 10 times worse which led to me withdrawing from my normal "teenage" years and shutting myself away with my stoner buddies.
Its a shame cos now I've stopped smoking it I don't have anything to say to them anymore, I still think, if I hadn't started and carried on as I was and went to graduation how different would my life be?

People look at you funny since that is not a low GPA. Which would indicate everyone in the school got beyond a 4 meaning they were probably getting A+.

I wish I could have skipped my graduation. I didn't really have any friends in high school and bf always hung out with his friends, so it wasn't much fun being there "alone" and sad while everyone else were having a blast.

Not normal, nope. I wouldn't have missed that ever. Howevers, you're in college, so you can supplement your big epic college graduation for the little itty bitty high school one. Make this one count. Toga, toga, toga.

Totally normal. My brother didn't go either because he hates crowds. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have wanted to attend high school graduation either if I didn't have any friends to celebrate it with.

It's normal. I recall not going to my elementary/middle school (I can't remember which one) gaduation ceremony. Since I never finished HS, I never got to go to a high school graduation ceremony. Oh well *shrugs*. I probably wouldn't have gone anyway.

This is normal. I went to graduation for my parents' sake. Graduation is nothing but an event that glorifies the valedictorians and salutatorians, whilst every other student loses some dignity.

They've worked hard for 4 years. Don't you think they deserve the recognition? It's not supposed to discourage the other students but instead show them that hard work, discipline, and determination pay off in the end.

I didn't go to mine either. It's not like they fail you if you don't attend.
