I dislike leggings, yoga pants, and sweats.

I feel like leggings, yoga pants, and any other exercise/loungewear is kinda irritating in public. Like their not even trying. I just don't think it looks good. Of course, to each his own. That's fine. But when people wear them to work, I just find it so unprofessional. These don't count as pants!

I think yoga pants are fine for work. I don't really notice the difference as they just look like black pants to me. Leggings are fine too with a dress, looks professional. I see this all the time. Sweats on the other hand, definitely not flattering for anyone and always looks sloppy. It's fine for lounging around the house or picking up one item at the store but that's about it.

Yes, I agree that leggings with a long top or dress are fine. But I don't want to see any camel-toe :P

Yeah if they're TOO tight that's the only issue I have with them otherwise I also agree and find them fine.

I work with several women that wear leggings under a short dress, or skirt. It would be inappropriate, in the office without the leggings, but they are comfortable, and they look good, though I can't say that I think they look good, because of our BS HR policies!!

each of these items are sexy in their own way I love when my wife wears them....just my opinion.....but jogging pants at work definitely not....the other two can definitely work if done right....just like above stated leggings and a nice dress really works

I personally wear Yoga pants to work, and I am a manager. That being said, I also do a lot of moving around at my job as it isn't necessarily a professional environment. I lift things, do maintenance work and crouch down a lot, so my boss actually encourages me to wear comfortable clothing. I wear them in public when I'm going out quickly or I'm lounging around with friends. I would never wear them to a professional engagement. Leggings are a different story to me. I enjoy wearing them, because they make my butt look good, which therefore makes me feel good about myself. They are also a comfortable alternative to jeans and I find they look great. I don't wear them all the time, but I do enjoy the "Garage" brand of them. They're comfortable and I find them stylish and that's just my preference :)

I hate them too. Especially, when a woman will wear leggings of Jeggings and pretend that they are actual pants.

I'm the kind of person that likes to be comfortable, but doesn't mind looking nice when I can. I wear oversized sweaters with jeans and sometimes I wear dresses.

I only own two pairs of sweat pants and one pair of leggings. Sweat pants can be cute with a sweater if you're going for the casual look to school or somewhere casual. The leggings however I wear underneath skirts/dresses when it's a bit colder or underneath my jeans.

Generally, I think it's okay to look relaxed and comfortable on a daily basis. But it does bug me when girls wear them just to make their butts look good (guys at my old high school would beg to differ).

At work...depending on your profession, I'd say it depends.

  • I share your frustration.. Sort of. It irritates me to see women in public in sloppy clothes, messy hair and no make up. I'm a female and I always try look decent atleast. Not that I have some image obsession, I guess I'm just old fashioned and think that if you're a lady you should atleastmake yourself look like one before going out into public where people can see you. Sweat pants are disgusting. I worked with a woman who wore those matching pants and zip up hoodie type sweat suits. Pink ones, like paris hilton wore in house of wax just before she got impaled in the skull by a sharp pole. It disgusted me more and more everytime I saw this woman and she had the very nerve to critiscise me for wearing a band shirt to work one day. Anyway, I hate leggings, especially those that cut off just above the ankles and when women pair them with a vest or something. For leggings/tights to be acceptable they have to show no ankle so wear boots or get ones that cover the feet aswell, and it has to be with a long top, a dress, or shorts or a skirt. Basically, cover your ass. Leggings are made of thin material and highlight every inperfection such as sellulite and who the hell wants to see that anyway?

I'm probably opening a HUGE can of WORMS here, but I don't mean to offend anyone, OK!! I'm not judging, in any way, just saying what I have seen, from a guy's perspective, OK!!! Don't hate me!!

Women are REALLY judgmental of each other, and guys don't even notice what you see!! We just see you, and think, 'wow! She looks really AMAZING!!' but I can't say that, because of HR, and the 'rules' and it is somehow 'sexual harassment,' to say that, and smile in the 'wrong' way!!

I grew up in era of spandex 'stirrup pants' and women never thought about panty lines then! It was an AMAZING time!!

Then came 'ANAL FLOSS' a la the 'thong' and all the issues with that!!

There is a place for proper, elegant dresses, and a place for yoga pants. Somewhere between, some can wear yoga pants and look good. Others, tipping the scale, just shouldn't, EVER.

Some look amazing in leggings, and short skirts, covering their bottom, wearing little boots, even in the professional environment!

Exactly! It's so rude to look like you couldn't be bothered to look decent. Like saying, "I don't care what your opinion of me is. Your thoughts don't matter."

I like them a LOT on women, I can't see enough of them. Back a few years when the girls wore some kind of top over the hips I didn't notice it that much but now it's one of the best things I've seen women wear, if only they were wet look leggings though.
At work it's a but much, at that point I'm going to think the girl is insecure, hung up on her looks , needing to look hot all the time. That stuff is more for fun, at the mall, a restaurant or some such thing.

Sucks for you. I didn't even read this post, just wanted to let you know I'm wearing leggings and a skirt :P

It's normal. Everyone has their preferences.

  • Uuh, I don't really care what guys think of how women look. Everyone assumed women only care how they look just because of what males might think of them. I couldn't give two shits what people think of how I look, but I make sure I look decent because it makes me feel better about myself. And women are not any more judgemental than women are. How many times have I heard a guy say "look how fat she is" about a girl who is a healthy weight with curves? Too many? How many times has anyone on here heard a guy judge a girl harshly on her looks or weight, especially weight? I got teased in primary school for having acne that wasn't even that bad, by guys only. Not one female said a thing about it, not even the ones I wasn't friends with. Guys judge women a lot more harshly than women judge eachother, and that's why a lot of women feel they have to impress males with how they look. I, however, could literally not care less.

  • Its worse when they actually think they look okay in sloppy clothes, I feel like punching them in the face. Like, no one expects them to walk around in high heels and an evening gown or some shit, but atleast put some make up on your casper face and wear some decent clothing before going in public you know? And then you get those pregnant women who use that as an excuse to dress sloppy. "Nothing fits me". So?! Ever heard of maternity wear? Jesus. I saw a woman in the shopping mall, pregnant, in fucking pajama pants and slippers in the middle of the afternoon. I could have slapped her.
