I don't age normally.

I'm turning 38 in two weeks. Most men my age are fat, balding, have much facial hair, and wrinkles. You can clearly see that they are 38, unless they are a model and then you only see their touched up photos or they use makeup. I have never used any anti-aging products nor have I lived a totally healthy lifestyle. I even smoked for over 10 years. However, many people swear that I look more like 25 than 38 and they often demand to see my ID. Before the newer plastic credit card style IDs came out, I used to have to sign a book whenever I went to a bar or bought alcohol at a store stating that if I were caught for minor in possession, the establishment that served me could not be charged. Most people would probably kill to have this condition. But trust me, it is more of a curse than a blessing. Because I look so young, I often attract younger women who freak out when they find out how old I really am. Women my age don't want to date me because they look way older than I do. I am wondering if I don't have some kind of hormone imbalance or something. I have searched the internet for anyone else that has a similar problem, but cannot find anything about it anywhere. There are hormone imbalances that age you quicker, but none that age you slower. It only seems natural to me that one could not exist without the other. I really need to know if there is a possible health risk or if there are others out there like me.

IT's NOT AS FUN AS YOU'd THINK!!

I am 33 and most days I appear to be 17 or younger.

I have been disrespected by people who thought I was a teen mom. I have been ignored by sales clerks who think I was a teen just browsing. I( have been talked down to. And I have put on weight - ON PURPOSE- to try and have a more mature look.

Female peers think I am lying about my real age- and men overlook me because they think I'm jail bait..... Even my son says, geez mom - you look as young as some of the kids in my school (he's in middle school).

I'm tired of being called "sweetie" and "that girl".

Sadly shallow and glaringly obviously cannot be true.

If you are handsome and youthful then you have looks and a youthful appearance and nothing else.

You also may need intelligence, perception, compassion, understanding, strength, loyalty, focus, concentration, enthusiasm, generosity, love, hope, fidelity, integrity and a whole host of other atributes, both positive and negative, that will nonetheless be useful in life.

I think the crux of this post is that these concerns come up out of the notion that we do not and can not ever live up to the visual standards of what the media says we should be. Truth is the media do not celebrate diversity or anything deeper than looks and status symbols.

But life is a long learning curve. If you choose to pay attention or care to dare to be different.

            ;) (This wink is ironic)

I'm 31 and still waiting for my puberty >_<
My height increased a lot by age 27.

Good sign is I'm still growing taller despite of my current age and feel really good about my health.

By "puberty," I take it you mean you can't grow facial hair yet? I couldn't really grow a mustache or beard until I was about 50.

To the original poster looking for a medical reason why you may not look your age: schizophrenia
THERE IS a rather common notion among psychiatrists that patients with schizophrenia appear younger than their chronological age. Both of the authors had heard this by word of mouth but neither, in the original conversation which led to this study, knew of any specific research bearing on the question. Arieti1 refers to the "frequent, although by no means constant fact, that schizophrenics seem younger than their age." Hoffer and Osmond2 suggest that "Schizophrenics are frequently very attractive physically. They tend to age and lose their hair color more slowly and generally appear more youthful than their chronological age." A review of the literat

Sorry to hear this but it sounds like you are a small lady! It happens allot with short people because children are small. I am old but most people dont know this, i have a brother and he looks his age 58 i still look like im 25..., i freak people out and so i lie. I dont have grey hair or any wrinkles but the one thing i believe i do different is how i sleep, i sleep at least 12 hours and when i dont i do look older, im not fat but i love the simple things i laugh every chance i get i stay away from my old friends and when i visit i make a point to be frumpy so they dont ask me a million question or where lots of bad make up and make it wrinkle but most of the time im a kid at heart i love kids and animals ...... Looks are not that important its how you feel and what you bring to the world, i dont wont to out live the person i love because that would be a curse! So wrinkled or not as long ad we are together i own this world... God bless you

I'm also ur age and people take me as 10 yrs younger. the worst thing is that im still unmarried and men my age don't take interest in me. when I was in my late 20's i used to be approached by men 5-6 yrs younger than me and now i'm approached by men who are more than 10 yrs younger than me but obviously they don't want to marry me when they find out about my real age. People who don't know my age treat me as little girl and I feel extremely embarrassed. They are shocked when i tell them my real age so its hard for me to tell anyone my real age. Sometimes I feel that I'm deceiving people. Am I a vampire? :(

You not the only one my youthful looks ruining my chances of meeting someone special. I am an 34 year old would like to settle down with someone special, spotted this site and want to tell others my story. Reading people's stories made me feel better I am not the only one with this non ageing much gene. When in company of people younger then myself I feel embarrassed because I know I am much older then them, but people think I am the youngest. Plus side of looking younger get on with people younger then yourself ,but i feel its a curse don't really want in my life. True story from last week I lady approached me when out asked me to go to a bar with her, had a dance first and we got on we'll with each other, but once she asked my age didn't want nothing to do with me. Happened a few times now try to joke it off at times and tell others I am immortal. Everyone around seems to be meeting others and dating, then getting engaged and getting married followed by kids.

Maybe you should bring up your age sooner, like work it into the conversation, if that's something the girls are getting turned off by. Better sooner than later. They aren't worth your time if they are so shallow about it anyway. Although I find that I never have any problems with girls though. They are usually impressed and don't mind that I've been around a lot longer than I look.

You're only a vampire if you feed off blood to maintain your youth lol.

Anyway I find that people are very close-minded when it comes to the age thing. It's just a number in the end. I don't mind if a girl is more than 10 years older than me, but looks the same age as I do. If two people share the same level of mental maturity, then I don't see why not. Guys who reject you based on your age were probably not meant for you anyway. But I'm sure you'll find the right one who accepts you and your blessed youth. :)

I was about where you are now when I was your age. I began to notice there was something different about me when I was still in my teens and I have always known it is genetic because my father was the same way and so are my brother and sister. It probably, as nearly as I can tell, is a genetic inheritance that really begins to "kick in" after puberty. If you're like me, you probably have abnormally oily skin and hair, right? This is because our sebaceous glands - the glands that produce skin and hair oil - produce more than the average person's does. This is important in aging because it is our skin oil that keeps our skin youthful looking and supple. I found, into my forties, that I had an "embarrassing" problem with my face being oily and I would slip into the men's room a couple of times a day, at work, to blot up the excess oil with a paper towel. Anyway, this is one of the physical traits I have identified, myself. I have been trying to find a scientific basis for my "condition" for many years, but it is so comparatively rare and that it has apparently gone unstudied. Anyway,as you and others here have expressed, and as i will attest, myself, it is a curse when you are young. No one takes you seriously and you're viewed as a freak. However, don't despair because we get our "revenge" later on. I am 60 years old and will be 61 in October of this year, however, by all accounts from the people I meet, I look like I am 45. At 21, I looked 14. At 32, I looked 16. At 42, people still thought I was about 22, and so on. I have figured that, given my past experience and the apparent widening of the gap between my chronological age and my apparent age, I should look 60 when I'm 80. The other day, I met an old woman on a bus who looked about 80 and was actually 92. So, while we are rare, we're not total freaks. In fact, since my thirties, I have noticed that the number of people who are in their twenties and still look like teenagers has increased, somewhat. Another anecdote: the actors who portrayed Bill MacMurray's sons in the 1960s TV show, "My Three Sons" were all in their twenties when they portrayed teenagers in the show. Looking back, my advice is to enjoy the ride because it only gets better. :)

I know what you are talking about when you talk about being referred to as a freak (or worse yet, a pedophile). Believe me, I'm 38 years old and I could easily imposter Justin Bieber and he's half my age. I don't even LOOK 38. A lot of people look at me and think that I'm underage. And it is definitely a curse. That is why in business situations, I have to look like I'm running for president in order to avoid being lumped in with somebody much younger. A lot of people think I'm stupid and they dont take me seriously. If you looked at me, you would swear I was a teenager. And I dont have an explanation for this. Although I will say this: This is definitely an asset if you end up working in the entertainment industry. I am flying out to CA for a writer's conference in under a month and that is where looking young is to my advantage, especially if I try and get acting roles within the projects that I wrote. I can't count the number if times I have had people GAWK at me for at least thirty seconds thinking I'm JB or yell something directed me saying "THERES NO BIEBER FEVER HERE! YOU COULD PASS FOR JUSTIN BIEBER!" This was being said even when I had a buzz cut military style. I stopped doing that because of the fact that I also have a permanent surgery scar on my head from having brain surgery and i don't want to draw attention to that and have people refer to me as being crazy. There's one way to tell us apart: I don't have tattoos on my arm and my ears aren't pierced. (And I don't mean any disrespect in that area.) But by all accounts, with minor variations we must be brothers, because our body type is similar in every other aspect.

With regard to how this is a curse, I can't count the number of times people have told me to grow the f*** up, probably more out of envy than anything else. These situations in life piss me off and make want to slap somebody. I'm not doing anything wrong so far as I'm concerned, I am just trying to live my life. When I hear people say that I'm not acting my chronological age, I want to tell them to suck an egg. Most of my friends are half my age, because that is who I identify with. I basically use this as my excuse to be a kid at heart -- I have interests that revolve around video games, much to the chagrin of people like Dr. Phil who want to pick on me for something I have no damn control over. I personally don't care. I play PS3 games and 3DS games because that is what people "my age" do. And because by all accounts, I grew up with an 8-bit NES so I don't see what is wrong with how I choose to live my life. As long as I am not on illegal drugs or doing something to get myself arrested (I'm on SSDI currently because of issues that revolve around job discrimination due to having epilepsy since two), then I don't see what the big deal is.

I have told people my actual age and they exclaimed "EXCUSE ME!?!?" because in social situations they were talking down to me like I was 12 and I had to remind them that I at the time was 37. They were treating me with abuse, not knowing that they were taking to someone who had been around the block more than a few times. I'm also 5 feet 11 inches , only a few inches taller than the king of Twitter. He hasn't followed me yet, but maybe that will change. If you put me and JB next to one another, you might have difficulty telling us apart. (And this is by no means a fan obsession that I have with him, although I did use that briefly to my advantage in order to get my scripts optioned and possibly sold.) And nothing has happened yet, but that could change in another month and I could be worth seven or eight figures somewhere down the line.

But with that being said, looking half my age definitely has it's advantages, especially if I end up working in Hollywood soon.

I will post my website address once I see what type of response this gets. (And no, this website has my script projects on it that I'm trying to sell in another month.) But for all intents and purposes, when I'm wearing shades and dressed casually, people tend to do a double-take (or they chastise me and say they are getting tired of this s***). I look the way that I look and I personally don't care about the vitriol and anger that other people have toward me because they want to treat me with kid gloves.

Start writing. Open up a blog. Teach and educate people and society, who doesn't know that being a 'physically over-grown' has nothing to do with mental maturity. In your eloquently articulated convincing and persuasive open letters, readers will get impressed by you, without having a picture of your face and body. It will boost your confidence too, as you will get to know that there are people in this world who judge by quality and maturity (MENTAL MATURITY of course) and not by appearance. BE A SOCIAL REFORMER AND FIGHT AGAINST MENTAL ILLNESS. This is coming from a gentleman.

I know how you feel! I just turned 38 and I still look no older than my 18 yr. old daughter! I wish I can understand the benefits of looking like a teenager. No, I don't wanna wrinkle before my time, but I'd like to look like an adult. It's been a holdback. I've been rejected teaching positions as a result of looking like a kid. Too many babies want to date me and worst of all the public sees me and my daughter as sisters rather than mother and daughter. So I know what you're going through. I want someone wise to tell us what should we be thankful for.

I matured slowly, and have aged slowly. I got my period very late (15) and it didn't become regular until I was 30.

At 30, a teacher at my friend's daughter's junior high school asked if I was a new student there.

At 39, my current boyfriend asked me out thinking I was his age. He is 11 years younger.

I don't have wrinkles and my hair is still shiny. I've maintained a healthy body weight as well, although I have to admit I could be exercising a bit more... So there is some cellulite :(

I have a fraternal twin who looks our age. She is in better shape, but her hair has gotten brittle and her skin shows typical 40 year old wrinkling.

I inherited my slow maturing/aging from my dad's mom, who also developed late. It was bad at a time when you were an old maid at 20. She managed to lure a younger man to in her 30s.

I only hope my fertility has been preserved as well as my face!!

The benefit is that, as long as you remain in relatively good health, you'll probably always continue to look many years younger than you are and this will tend to follow you through every decade of your life, so enjoy looking 40 when you're in your 50s. :)

I am 35 years old, and will turn 36 in September. Less than one week before my 34th birthday, I was carded for a Rated R movie - I had to show ID to prove I was over 17!

Trust me, it is more annoying than it is complimentary - I have 13 years of professional experience (received BS degree in 1997). Yet, during an interview, I find I have to work my age into the conversation in order to get the potential employer and/or the potential client (I started my own business last year) to take me seriously as a professional. Most people who interview me as a prospective consultant/employee have to be convinced that I'm not some new college grad who lied on her resume to get an interview for a senior-level position and/or to negotiate a higher salary/consulting rate.

Regarding dating: Not only do I get asked out by 20yo kids (or even high school jail bait!), I also get asked out by 50-60yo men who like *really* young girls and who are thrilled to find that I'm legal but don't look it. EW!

No offense to the young people on this board, but I just don't want to date 20yo college students. I am looking for a serious relationship with a man who is ready to get married and have children in the next few years. In most cases. a 20yo college student is just finding out what it means to pursue a lifelong commitment to a partner - usually someone his/her own age - and most college students aren't interested in becoming parents until they are in their mid-to-late twenties. By that point, I will be 40yo, and my risk of having my first child born with Down's Syndrome goes up quite a bit.

So, it's an interesting challenge - how to get people to take you seriously as an adult when you show every sign of looking like a 17-22yo kid until you are well into your forties. I'd love to hear strategies that have worked for all you other ageless folks out there.

So far, what I do is work my age into conversations early in my personal and professional relationships. When I want to build a long-term personal or professional relationship, I know that first impressions count. So, I make sure our first conversation provides either a clue to my age (like the year I earned my BS - 1997) or a direct statement of my age.

It's actually sort of funny to watch a person's face as he/she completely readjusts his/her mindset upon discovering that I'm about 15 years older than I look. It's usually a very visible process - the person's face will register shock first, then *maybe* a bit of embarrassment, and then enlightenment. Then there'll be this thoughtful pause, as the person mentally readjusts his/her concept of me, and then revises his/her end of the conversation on the fly to bring it in line with my true age and professional experience level. :)

I am a 51 year old male. I believe my aging process started slowing down when I was 12. I don't mean I look 12 but each year after it seemed it took three or four years to look another year older. I never paid too much attention to this until my late 20s when people would make comments after finding out my age. It is difficult for me to tell you how old I think I look but strangers think I am in my 30s. Maybe it is because I am half Italian. My father died in a plane crash in his 60s and his last photo taken four months before his death appears to be a person in their early to mid 30s. The only sign of age on me is when I get lack of sleep my eyes look tired. Also my eyes are very sensitive. I don't mean for this to sound scary but my eyes hurt if I am in bright light. I don't like the sun and I prefer to go out at night.

Thank you! You have just supplied the corroboration I was looking for that this starts right about at puberty. Another factor, for me, was that, by14, I had attained my full adult height of six feet and never grew another inch afterward. This made me appear very tall and skinny for my age and I was teased mercilessly for it, but it was part of why I looked so much younger, also. By high school, I was amazed at how old looking the kids in my classes were. I remember being envious of guys who could grow a beard at 16 and who could pass for 21. I later realized it was me who had the real advantage because when I saw those same people at my 20th high school reunion, they looked like old men, with wrinkles and grey hair, whereas.

Hrmmm different for my case. I hit puberty at 12-13 and completely stopped growing at 15. I'm still the same height now. But back then I actually looked older than my age. At 14, everybody said I looked 16. At 15, I looked roughly 17. My aging must have slowed down at 18 and came to a halt around 19-20. I still look the same almost a decade later. So I think this 'irregular' aging thing could kick in at different times for different people.

Oh and I was able to grow a beard/mustache ever since 16ish. Never had an issue with being sensitive to light though.

Interesting. Your' story is similar to mine. I didn't stop growing until my late 20's. But while I don't have issues with the sun my eyes are a bit sensitive. I'm half Italian also.

For me, my height stopped growing when I had my growth spurt at 13 to 14, but I couldn't grow a beard until I was in my fifties.

i always looked younger also.when i was 30 i married a girl 18 and so began to hang with younger people.i'm 56 now but easily pass to be in my mid 30's. because i hung with younger people since 30,i'm not attracted to women my own age and i think on a much younger level as well.i'm into 80's music and much of the current stuff as well(other people my age are typically 70's finatics) and i enjoy doing much younger things than any 56 year old(six flags, carnivals, roller coasters, theme parks, hanging out, cruising, actually having fun).when younger girls are attracted it bites me in the ass to have to eventually tell them my age.cause they begin to avoid me when they find out.but overall, looking younger will be your friend when you begin to reach mid 40's and into your 50's.believe me,you'd rather be around people in their 30's when your in your 50's unless you become 'old fashioned' and tend to build a shrine in your head dedicated to your high school and graduation years(don't do that i warn you).i never did so.i continued to listen to the cureent music of the day as wellas my preference(80's as i said) and that along with looking much younger has helped me feel and remain physically much younger./don't knock your youngish apperance./when your in your 50's and can attract women in their late 20's and 30's,you won't have to tell them your age..now if they ask,i just say"well how old do i look" and if they say "30-ish" i just smile and reply "that sounds good enough to me" . appearing to be younger has it's drawbacks but overall it'll be your best friend in the future.believe me.

I straight out tell them my age when they ask. I don't ever feel the need to lie to them about it. I find that they are always more impressed than freaked out. If they ask how I do it, I just say it's a result of my clean lifestyle and fitness. Females appreciate that.

I checked online to see if there were others like me and I see here there are. I remember being about or exactly 25 or so and the plumber nearly falling when he found out my real age. Fast forward. Now I am 43 and in the same boat. I am a returning college student. My experience should be that of someone looking like they headed back to college. Well I have to live with teachers telling all of us in class we are too young to know what it is like to live without computers or that we are the next generation so take care of the environment. There was one teacher who said she is older than us all. Sorry Teach, I think you are younger than I am. It is embarrasing. I try to avoid clues of my older experiences with many a person. I cannot easily feel I can correct people especially teachers and others in authority. One teacher only suspected maybe I was older because I acted more mature and when I imitated Shultz from Hogan's Heroes he outright asked me since young people today he said don't know any shows or movies past their birthdates. I feel like an undercover cop and in school I'm afraid to grow a beard. It does have grey in it and the contrast even though not enough to make me grandpa makes me nervous. Yes women my own age would not give me the time of day and what do I do with those who look like me and are young enough to have been babies when I was first in college? Fortunately I seem to be hooking up with a female 2 years younger than me who also does not look her age. My siblings also look younger which is a relief since if I am to age slowly I sure want them to as well. How young we look seems to go in birth order, so my younger sister is worse/better off than I am. It is hard to get people to sympathesize and indeed it has a nice side to it, in theory at least, but still there is a great deal of embarassment. I'm hoping everyone in my generation ages more slowly too so I will look more insinc.

I'm a medical professional and I've been practicing my specialty for 16 years, not including the 4 years of professional education, which gives me 20 years of experience in my field.

I am 40 and I look like I'm in my mid to late 20's. It's a curse. Patients don't take me seriously. Female patients over the age of 40 are the worst. They question me on my age to the point of harassment. One patient just last week asked me if I just graduated from college. I told her no and gave her the year of graduation and she was surprised. She kept pressing the issue in a condescending manner and finally I told her I was 40. I was about to pull out my driver's license!

I've been listening to the same commentary for 16 years, and I'm a little sick of it. When you're in my position, age comments are not a compliment, but an insult, because the patient is questioning your authority and your credentials.

I used to wear eye makeup to make myself look older, until I developed an allergy to all of it. So, now I look like a kid again.

I don't dye my hair anymore because of a hair dye allergy. I do have a few scant speckled grays but not enough to help.

My latest scheme to look older is to wear suits and skirts that are earth tones or darker in color (no pastels). Dress to the nines. I also wear glasses that are not youthful and trendy, but of more traditional style.

I do have same problem with dating. I would date a man who is as old as 60. But the young 20 somethings keep asking me out and granted, they are cute, but I'm not into the cougar thing. The men my age stay away from me because they think I'm too young.

I even have had people MY AGE call me "sweetie" or "honey" or have had them talk to me like "when you get to be my age ..." Even my own cousin, who knows I used to babysit him, said, "Yeah, when you get to be my age ..." I said, "DUDE, I'm OLDER than you!!!" He was like, "Oh yeah. That's right."

      Ugh!!!

Exactly my experience. No one took me seriously at all when I was younger. I remember trying to talk about politics and history with my co-workers when I was 20 and being told, "Aw, you weren't even born yet!" When I was talking about events that I have personally lived through. I can imagine the difficulties in being taken for an experienced physician. You always have to prove yourself, continually.

Found your post by accident, it resonated with me .
I'm turning 36 this year and married with 2 kids. I've always looked young for my age, and coupled to that I'm only 5 ft 5 inches tall, with a normal bmi at 24.
I've been a qualified doctor for 12 years now and I still look extremely young. To the point I have been asked for Id to buy alcohol 3 times this year alone.
My manner is mature, i am overqualified in terms of medical experience/training for my hospital grade.. it's a strange existence seeing people sometimes over 10 years my junior look older than I do. Often the medical students I'm lecturing look older than me.
My wife complains that I make her look and so feel old. that upsets me.
I guess it's all part of life , but it's not the normal run of things. I definitely find it a disadvantage from a work point of view, especially exams and interviews. Thank goodness I have passed all the exams ill need now.
I missed out on a major training opportunity 2 years ago despite being 5 years senior to the other candidates. During feedback I was told, "you look very young".. "How old are you anyway". So yes it does matter, I have dealt with it , now by trying to publish more than anyone else I know! There is none of the prejudice with written communication.
I actually now feel its a form of prejudice, call it genetic prejudice, and could be viewed in same category as racial prejudice. Short skeletal height, soft unwrinkled facial features lack of visible facial hair .. i need to shave daily but the stubble is not very visible due to a fair complexion.
It crosses my mind that I may be ageing at a decreased rate, but that's hard to really know,or it might be just a cluster of genetic attributes that people associate with youth. I suspect the latter.
Anyway your not alone, I understand and I'm glad you posted.

            Josh, you're the man!

I've been thinking about this for quite a long time and finally I googled it to found this page.

            My age-look relationship:
            12-12
            15-12
            20-15
            25-18
            30-20

I'm 30 but I look 18-22 and, O-M-G, it's fucking awesome! I'm single and I date girls between 17-22. At the same time, I can date some women around 30-35 because they want an "angel" to remember their earliest days and, at the same time, an experienced man as well. So, I fill the gap easily.

The reason we all are like this is simple: genetics. If the main goal of life is to avoid death our genetics are simply superior than average. It's quite obvious if you analyse it straightforward.

As some people here mentioned: I have green eyes and light is really uncomfortable to me. Also, just for an anonymous record, I am quite a smart person.

Usually, when the true about my age comes out everyone is embarrassed but after some seconds they realise they could look younger if they were like me. But, unfortunately, they're not and a brief cloud of uncertainties fills the conversation.

My deep experience says I not only look young... actually I AM young. Despite living 30 years, my genetics, my body, my mind, my feelings, my desires, my relationships, everything, keeps saying: you're 20.

My conclusion so far is: I have 30 but I am 20.

Exactly, and it only gets better with age. However, it IS a curse when you're young, for the various reasons we've all stated here, i.e, not being taken seriously as an adult, being rejected by the opposite sex, etc. These are serious difficulties that can lead one to have feelings of inferiority, etc. It's nothing to be taken lightly. However, as I have experienced (and continue to, as I near my 61st birthday), it has its rewards later on.

I totally agree with this guy (joshburns). It's a precious gift to be young looking. Cherish it, you are charming. You would insult God if you call the blessing that has been bestowed upon you, a 'curse' ?! The other guys...don't even count what they say. They are jealous towards you. They envy you because you are capable of attracting beautiful young sexy woman(in case of a guy) or a handsome hunk(in case of a girl). Your natural delicacy and tenderness gives you a charismatic appearance. Learn to despise those who are judgemental towards you and harshly criticize you (ridiculing you, laughing about you, or making caricatures). Be proud of your unique superiority that defies degeneration and erosion. People might try to make fun of you to humiliate you, degrade you deliberately and purposefully due to their meanness and narrowness caused by inferiority complex. A baby-faced guy is capable of stealing the heart of those precious youthful women in heat, whom they fall for. They cannot tolerate. Spit on their ugly face and enjoy your life as much as you can with this gift.<BR>By the way, I am a guy from India (unfortunately) of Caucasian descent. Vast majority of people in India (almost all people in rural India) look like Sub-Saharan Africans !! Gorillas !! They have broad moustache and even beard in some cases, at a very young age ! And, to a Caucasoid eye, they would look like "daddy", because of their facial structure and facial hair

One day I casually asked the hairdresser I go to if she had heard of that happening to anyone else and she just looked at me confused. I will not color my hair because I want to see what happens with the grey hairs. Me own personal science experiment!

I have searched and searched online for people like me. i found them on this site i will post my picture and profile another day. but thank you for speaking for me. I've got the same problem - I have men in their 40s warning me that they are older than me and I'm 50 this year. Men love having a younger girl but not a woman older looking much younger. My ex was always upset and was always asking me to slow down. Now I'm fed up warning potentially interested men that I'm older so I had to sign on a cougar site to get rid of the age problem!!! but the worse is when you travel, your passport gets checked all the times - sometimes I need to wait a few minutes for the officer to do all the checks - yes that's right ultraviolet light it's a genuine passport now close your mouth wide open in stupor and release the passport gently back to me! that's it! thank you!! my mother warned me that's a family curse, my grandmother had to get a 20 year younger man to cope with, my mother had to go to a matrimonial agency to find someone who would not freak out, and I'm having lots of success on a cougar site :D now I need to get my head around some of the very young men though!! :0 we should make our own dating club onsite - you look much younger? then date us on the wwww.youngerlookingpeople.com :D that would be nice :)

I am 39 and men my age are either married/in a relationship already, or not interested because they don't know I"m the same age. I do get a lot of guys around ten years younger than me interested, but I either find them too immature or they think I'm "old". The other side of the problem is that I get guys in there 50's and 60's hitting on me, and I know they think I'm in my late 20's. That is a turn off because I know they just want a "young girl". Plus, I don't find guys in their 50's or 60's attractive. I have a hard time finding guys in there late 40's attractive because to me they look old. So unless I lie to some younger guy about my age (which I think is wrong!) then I end up with no one interested.

I was looking for something like this when I typed "I've stopped aging" in my search bar. I have always looked young to everyone around me. I was so glad when my hair started turning gray that I was almost in tears. The funny thing is, I was talking to a girl the other day on Facebook that I haven't seen in 20 years and she said she knew who I was instantly because I look exactly the same as I did then. That was in 8th grade. I am fixing to turn 35 and I can pass for a high school student. In eight grade I looked older than everyone else. I looked like I could be sixteen or seventeen then and I was only fourteen. Now...I still look like I could be sixteen or seventeen. I smoke, I drink, I don't eat right or exercise, and still I'm not aging. Weird, huh?

I have a very similar experience to you. I looked older than everybody else in my early teens. At 12, I looked 14. At 14, I looked 16. Every teacher at school said I looked mature and could pass as somebody a couple of year levels above myself.

But around 17-18, my aging started to slow down and it completely stopped at 20. Been stuck ever since. At the 10 year highschool reunion, everybody else have matured into fully grown adults. I still look pretty much the same age-wise.

Oh, another thing: At 22, fresh out of the Air Force, I went back to school and no one thought I was in my twenties, of course. But, for financial reasons (called making a living!) I had to drop out and I didn't return to complete my degree until ten years later, at 32. Even then, I still fit right in. I remember sitting in class one day when the guy next to me said, "Man, you're going to look old before your time." I smiled and said, "Uuumm...look me up when you're 32 and we'll see what you look like, eh?" He said, "You're 32?!!"

Let me give you a simple but effective advice. Use difficult and tough words regularly, the meaning of which the listener has to think out. First, people might think that your are over-matured and showing off to make an impression (because they think you are a 'kid' by looking at your face)...but, if you make it a habit (for which of course you have to give time in your study and develop your rhetorical skill)...people's view about you will gradually change. They might not like you for your maturity out of envy, but they will certainly avoid calling you a 'kid', because linguistic proficiency and prowess is a definite sign of ripening

I know just what you mean, but I never had to put on airs. In fact, because of the way I speak, which is not much different from the way I write, people my age thought I was "weird" for a teenager (though I was in my early thirties). This became even more apparent when the conversation would turn to topics the average teenager has little to no knowledge of, or when I'd describe events from the 1950s as if I had been there myself (because I had been!).

I forgot to tell you that it IS genetic, for sure. This runs in my family, on both sides. I have photos my great-great-grandfather in his early sixties, taken in the 1890s, and he looked like a man of about 48 or so. This was true for my father, as well. On my mother's side, my grandfather, though he was bald by his thirties, still looked like a man in his 60s when he was in his early 80s (and male pattern baldness is not an age related thing, but also is genetic).

I definitely agree that genetics play a huge part. My mother and father both look young for their ages, and so do my brother and I today. But, our parents definitely did not look as young as we do when they were our ages. I'm thinking it's probably cause my brother and I are both fitness enthusiasts and we eat healthy. So it could be that we would already look young from our genetics. But on top of that, we further prolonged our youth with our active and healthy lifestyle.

Im at college (in the uk), so I am with 16-17/18 year olds, who all look way older than me. I've made friends but I cant escape the feeling they are aware of the weirdness of my age. One of my friends has commented on it before and I cringed so badly and went quiet.

I live with it, but I have become so socially awkward it may aswell be anxiety. I cannot wait for the day I begin to age properly; but I dread it will never come. Still I can only hope that if I am stuck with this it doesn't stay as bad as it is. I wouldn't particularly mind being 30 and looking 20.Its just at the worse possible time of any ones life to be my age and look 5-6 years younger...

I can identify. When I was 19 and in the Air Force, it was the same way for me. When I turned 21, I was telling a friend that it was my birthday and he asked how old I was. I told him and the couple who were visiting with him looked at me as if I had two heads. This happened all the time. At 36, I was talking to a woman in her fifties and we were looking at an old photograph of a group of people, taken in early 1952. She looked at me and said, "And you weren't even born yet!" I looked at her and said, "No....not yet...." And she got this funny look on her face like she couldn't figure out what I meant. I was born in October 1952.

What are you guys talking about? Besides the minor annoyances of people thinking we are younger, the benefits waaaaaay outweigh all of that. I am almost 36...people think I'm in my early 20s. I'm recently divorced. I have no problem getting any guys of any age to want to go out with me. The younger ones like me because I look young. The older ones like me because I'm as old as them but I look younger. I have 2 kids. The only annoyance I've had is people trying to say I had kids too young, but I started at 29. Yes people thought I was 16 and pregnant back then. Oh well. I'm a stay at home mom though, so I don't have a job and have anyone questioning my age because of that. But actually I KNOW why i seem to age slower, it's because I actually do. I recently found out with a genetic test that I have two copies of a gene called APOE 4. This is a little bit bad, because it puts me at very high risk for alzheimer's disease...but it's also good because people with this genotype have longer telomeres and age more slowly than others. If you beat this and don't get alzheimer's, these genes are an advantage and are the longevity genes that blow all the other longevity genes out of the water. (At least that is what I read on some website.) I got my genetic test at 23andme.com but there are other places that test for it.

Yes, in the long run, the benefits do, by far, outweigh the negatives....once you are older. Until then, though, it is not a benefit at all and is, in fact, a hindrance to a normal life.

The problem comes for those of us who are in our teens/very early twenties. It's the time of your life where you want and need to look as old as you can, not just for social reasons. I have become socially awkward because of it and avoid telling people my age at all costs and just go with whatever they think I am.

Imagine how difficult getting a Job is? Making friends? GF? I can't go out with friends my age and never have, simply because I look ridiculously young. Old friends even patronise me. So it is a problem.

Could be worse I suppose, I'm not gonna go and get depressed about it.

Exactly. Those who do not share our "problem" can never understand what it is like to live with. the very fact that we all wound up commenting on this and sharing our stories, which have so many parallels, is evidence enough to prove it.

I'm a 50 year old male. I decided to research this as I've been mistaken for younger all my life. It is not uncommon for someone to think they look younger than they are. But it is uncommon to hear it most everyday. For the record I'll say that I'm approx 6'0", few wrinkles and have all my hair with no noticeable grey. I've never used any cosmetics/moisturizers. I even smoke! I'm fit and have been a fast healer all my life. I have dark eyes, hair and skin. My skin rarely dries out. Only 5 or 6 hours of sleep no matter what has happened the day/night before. My wife (we have 2 kids)is 16 years younger than me. I was 36 when we met. She assumed I was around 25. Sometimes I have to get aggressive professionally when people mistake me for a younger person. It can be a pain in the wallet. No ego here. My 55 year old brother is the same way. My 52 year old brother is not? But it most certainly is GENETICS. My mother (Italian) was the same way until she gained weight in her late 60's after a foot injury. Let's not let it go to our' heads. We're not better than anybody but we did get lucky with GENETICS. Pass them on!

Some common points with you: skin that never dries out, I can never sleep more than 5 to 6 hours, even if I want to, and my siblings are the same way. Differences: I inherited the gene for male pattern baldness, but it has remained arrested since my thirties, I was a heavy smoker from age 16 to 20, then quit, and I have no kids and it doesn't look likely that I will, unless I can snag a 24 years old. ;)

It's normal. Ever since I was around 22, I've looked around 10 to 20 years younger than I am, depending on who looks at me. I also dont think about my age at all since I dont feel my age and dont have the lifestyle of people my age. I also dont tell anyone my age for that reason.

Both my parents look a lot younger than they are and have never had any wrinkles. My dad died in his 60s and his hair never had any grey in it. Most of my family on both sides look at least 10 years younger than they are, and many of them marry younger people. So I think for me looking younger is a mixture of genetics, a healthy lifestyle and my attitude (I feel much younger and never even remember my age; when I hear the number I never feel it applies to me). I am now in my late 40s and look anything from my late 20s to my 30s, depending on the observer.

Younger guys always date me and older guys think I'm much younger than them. However, most of them also seem and look a lot older than me so I don't become interested in them; their lifestyles are also very different from mine. Most of my friends are also younger. It can also be hard since Ive often felt disrespected because of it.

I like it and I think it gives me the chance to be younger for longer. I remember thinking when I was younger that there was something wrong with being that way and I even felt ashamed to tell people my actual age, but now I think it is great.

There is nothing wrong with it. It is usually about your genetics, level of health, attitudes and lifestyle.

I am a 25 Male... i was ID'd when i tried to buy the game Counterstrike (17+) by a kid who was 18... i was not amused.
i can't grow facial hair yet... i just recently stopped growing (i'm 5'10) and i've had a 14 yearold girl invite me to a grade 9 party once randomly because she thought i was hot. i had to show her my ID to get her to fuck off and leave me alone.
    when i was 12 i actually looked like a normal 12 yearold.
    when i turned 15 i still looked 12
    when i turned 18 i looked 14
    when i turned 20 i looked 15
    and now when i'm 25 i look 16-17.
now i think its a blessing, i'm forever young. i tapped into the fountain of youth and all.
what ticks me off is that i don't know why. i see all the people i love growing older and more mature looking... when i'm still the same little kid i was.
it ticks me off whenever i walk up to someone in the office, ask a serious question, and they treat me like a little kid. and don't get me started on chics. i asked out a 22 yearold chic and this is what she told me "i don't date younger boys, sorry"... i'm 3 fucking years older than her lol...
over the years i've started noticing that my aging lag is growing.
i went to multiple doctors and did a shitload of tests and exams to figure this shit out only to have the doctors puzzled because everything indicates that date on my birth certificate shouldn't be my actual date of birth.
i came to a conclusion that i'm just gonna be 17-20 forever.

Im turnin 37 in Nov. I look like I am between as young as 17 and 26...most people think I am in the early early 20's or late teens. I feel young yet I feel old. I would like to mature a little bit more but gracefully. I am confusing young men all the time....I am confused myself....I love the way my skin and body looks, but it is kinda strange looking and feeling this way. Sometimes I wish I could jus be the age of 21 so I wouldnt have to explain my condition. Overall I would rather anti-age than age I guess...I dont see myself ever getting old...I got my first gray hair a couple months ago. I dont feel my age and thats kinda weird. But lets not complain.

I ve stopped aging around the age of 40. People would remark that i look liek a girl of 18. I ve since settled for a more "mature" appearance of somoen in late 20ties.
I feel myself out-of-timeline. I see other peopel having plans and expectations and I see my own life as a sort of flat-line..just remaining the same forever!
I am now 53 and still dating guys in their 20ties struggling with having to justify and explain how is it possible to look this way. I would add that I am a spiritual person , believing that Now moment is all there is.

I'm also very spiritual and living in the now. :) I'm not fixated on the time thing at all. Age is just a number to me, as I don't believe the chronological passing of time necessarily has to be associated with your physical appearance. I notice people dreading their birthdays or freaking out about getting older. And these are the people who age the fastest. I'm all about enjoying life and doing whatever I want, because I have plenty of time on my hands. I'm completely limitless with how I think.

I have often wondered how many people are out there who don't age. And why science just don't pick them up and do some research since so much resources are spent on anti-aging cream, etc. Majority of people want to look young as they grow older but there are a whole bunch of us who just can't even seem to get pass the next birthday without going into reverse mode! I'm 42 this year but I look 25. My brother is 44 and he looks 18! And it is just not the face but the entire body remains in a frozen stage. I don't exercise and eat like a normal person. The funny thing was when I was 15, I looked much older. Things started to reverse after I turned 30. I am just curious where all this will head to. And like Inter(20716), I haven't been sick since giving birth to my second child. I used to get really bad headaches. But after year 2001, I don't even know how a headache feels like. But my eyes are very sensitive, to wind and light. Isn't there someone who's interested to know why we don't age?

It has now at this time caused all types of different problems but I still do enjoy the benefits. I party alot and have the hrs of young people. My sex life has never vained at all which is awkward but I do laugh about it. I have no friends over 50 and most of them are in their teens, twenties and thirties. My body is amazing. I mountain byke and swim. I would not know what it is to be sick. But as so many posts say in here my eyes are very sensitive to light and wind. I will admit though that I do take care of myself to a certain extent. My energy levels seem very high for a 64 yr. old but I enjoy it. I have no brothers or sisters but my parents also looked very young for their age as well.

        • tobiashardy

It's perfectly normal to be attracted to teenage girls. By the time females are 15-17, their bodies have already changed and matured. They are technically women in many cultures. We males instinctually respond to what we see. But most of us are in denial, because the society we live in has invented an arbitrary number of 18, and to look at girls below at age is deemed to be immoral. Most people are also too fixated on the age gap thing, that they look down on couples with a difference greater than 10, 20, or whatever. Those are just silly standards people make up.

When I was 19-20, my peers stopped looking at girls below 18. At the time, I thought I was the only one with 'misguided' thoughts. I'm in my late 20s now, and it still hasn't gone away. But I've long realised by now that it's quite normal. Although I never act on it of course, because having matching maturity levels is very important to me.

I'm so glad I found this. I too have this "problem". I'm in my mid-30s, but anywhere from 17-22. That's what people say. I'm not perfect, like I have some age symptoms like balding, but basically I look young. Women my age call me "dear", their daughters think I'm "hot". I attract way young girls, I can't really relate to "old" people my age. I saw this guy from my high school the other day, recognized me right away, twas weird older guy, hehe. I mostly relate to people in their early 20s. People just think I was in my late teens were it not for my hair. This sounds really hot, but the reality is it's kinda freakish and weird sometimes. Girls like me that are way way young, but women my age tend to mother me, of course they like me to, ha. Ok, well this sounds like bragging but it isn't. Glad to know there are others like me.

There's nothing wrong with going for 18 year old girls if you're in your 30s though. I mean, if you look roughly the same age as them, and they're mature enough to handle somebody your age, I don't see why not. Age is just a number. So go for it. ;D

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • GaryR60

Balding is NOT a symptom of aging. It's genetic defect, known as male pattern baldness. My hairline began to recede at 18. The good news is, it stopped by my thirties and I never really lost that much, as I have always had a "widow's peak" hairline, to begin with. I probably got the gene from my mother's father, who was bald by 30 (but looked 60 at 80).

i can empathize with you. because women of your age will not be attracted to you(as they will look so young compared to you! and women tend to prefer men older than them) whereas those younger women that you attract will freak out when they know your real age!
But thinking in a positive side, you will look young when you are old, it is a good thing!

True. When I was in my twenties, I was pretty much confined to dating high school girls and this continued until I was around 30 or so. When I met the first woman I ever proposed to,she thought she was picking up a teenage boy, at first.

Women always tend to date men older than them because they always think about finding a man who can protect them and the social stigma of being too young to be matured (for a guy) , psychologically prohibit the women from dating young cuties

I'll bet that your age lag will continue to widen. We've all looked our ages to begin with. But during some point in our childhoods or teens, our young genes kicked in. That's when the age lag starts to become noticeable.

I still looked my age at 18-19. But by the time I reached my late 20s, the age lag already widened to 7-8 years. I can imagine in the decades to come, it will go beyond 20+.

Another person chiming in. I don't age, I just level up! ;) Ok, I do age, sadly, just at an unusual rate.

True, this discussion has gone on years, but wow, there are hundreds of us in just this thread!

I'm 27. I look 20 or so years old. My rate of aging drastically slowed after I turned 17. By now, it actually feels odd when people suddenly start assuming I'm a year or so older than what people guessed a handful of years ago, because of course after being visually the same for long, it's jarring, you know? My dad was the same. I don't know if the age gap has widened for him as he got older cuz I'm terrible at judging what a person's age should look like, especially in ages older than mine.

I don't feel like I'm cursed. I used to, a little bit, when I was trying to start over in a new place, network, and set up my career while I looked like a teenager, but now, the whole concept of aging as an adult (not growing up anymore - instead growing old) is just strange. I see it in the faces of the people I've known for years, get a sense of their experience of time's passing in their comments (they feel like they are 'getting old' in their late 20's? really?), and it's all just weird!

What does feel like a curse is the... the social structure of modern life. First impressions wouldn't be such a problem for us if we didn't have to make them ALL the time! Constantly meeting new people, so many of them never seen again, so they are around just long enough to be annoying with their shock, judgement, etc. lol. I have no problem with who I am and what I look like until I have a parade of people telling me that these things don't match up and they find it disconcerting. It's the holidays now, so of course there were comments, which set me off on an internet search while I work on just not letting it bother me at all. After hearing the same theme of opinion over and over from so many sources for so long, it just should be in one ear and out the other, right? It's not their fault, and it's not mine, it just is what it is.

I'm really interested in all the extended health-span/anti-aging research going on now with Aubrey De Gray and others. At first the idea that the negative aspects of aging were 'symptoms' of the 'degenerative disease' we all call natural aging was shocking, but it's an idea that's taken root the longer I thought about it, and what other people call normal, I've started to see as simply the body's decline, the processes keeping us healthy slowly becoming impaired. Scary stuff.

Maybe people like us are just the first wave of the new normal ;)

This is me although I am still young, turning 23 in a couple of days,I am still mistaken to a 16 years old.I have little to no facial hair, some acne(yeah, didn;t passed that fase)and I got my bracers before I turned 21.I am required to show my ID so many times, when I first arrived at the orthodontist she asked me if I finished high-school and when i flew with the plane the guard from the airport asked my mother if I am 18.(was 21 then).
I think the oil glands are to blame,My skin and hair are very oil) hence the acne.I can't say I hate this(except the acne part,it's mild to moderate),I want to be young as much as possible,i am actually happy when people confuse my age,I wonder how much will it pay at 30 when I will be on my own and still looking young.
I did a bit of improvement to not look that young,I have quite a fit body, did a lot of sports in my teen and gym for 3 years. The factor that makes me taken seriously, aside my fitness,is the fact that I am 1.87meters/6'2 feet tall. This is above average in my country.

Hey original poster looking for a medical reason for not looking your age:schizophrenia?? This was found at: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapsychiatry/article-abstract/489742. If you are interested here is some of what it talks about:
THERE IS a rather common notion among psychiatrists that patients with schizophrenia appear younger than their chronological age. Both of the authors had heard this by word of mouth but neither, in the original conversation which led to this study, knew of any specific research bearing on the question. Arieti1 refers to the "frequent, although by no means constant fact, that schizophrenics seem younger than their age." Hoffer and Osmond2 suggest that "Schizophrenics are frequently very attractive physically. They tend to age and lose their hair color more slowly and generally appear
I can personally attest to some one I know who looks like a senior in high school yet she is 38 years old. And she has schizoid disorder. Ask a doctor about it. Good luck and try to ignore the bullies in this world who make you feel lesser for looking young!

Women my age either think I am way way too young, or are looking to fulfill a cougar fetish fantasy they cant when i tell them my real age.

Hello, I just turned, hold up, 43 I think. I don't think about age except when others bring it up. Which Beyond Genes, i think is the real secret. TIME BOUND AWARENESS. You are where your attention takes you. and as far as I can remember the "considered" "Average" American has been concerned about age, cant wait to be 16 to drive, 18 to be an adult, 21 to finally "Legally Drink and after 25, overly concerned about looking and feeling and being old. I think when you think about age, you age. And who has the time and what i really consider, THE LUXURY, of too much time to even THINK about being old. I am carded all the time. I am single, not married yet, no kids, yet, and a very very happy person. Happy with each day, second, moment, season, year, single and when with someone. Yet, this not aging does present modern day love and dating complications. Women my age either do not believe my age and i have to break out the ID, or think their "Cougaring" me, till I tell them and break their fantasy. Younger women, especially today's abundantly mindless, cant make life decisions for self generation of youth, have absolutely no idea what to do with me and think I'm an abnormal unusually mature youth, and not to toot my own horn, usually ends up messing up their own post dating prospects. As they have dated an experienced young man with goals and a career and worldly and professional experiences, but, he, I, was not a young man. I just looked it. So till I run into that sprite-full full of life experienced artful hippy that just doesnt care, I will be feeling like some responsible Immortal.

Its a very different strange experience indeed. Very, But HEY, life's not a B, it's an Adventure, just a different one, hmmmm, more to think on. Have fun all, glad i found others here as well, thanks much for your post and comments, I must say it does make one feel less immortally singular.

Have a beautiful joy filled day!

Reading your post there are some things that aren't consistent with looking older, simply looking less attractive. People associate youth with attractiveness- but they don't always go hand in hand. You can look older and still be better looking than someone who looks younger.

For example, Being overweight or even balding can happen for young men as well as older men . Its not really part of the ageing process, per se. So I don't believe that obesity has to do with aging. Because you see fat young people. You probably look close to your age you're just in better shape. Most people do let themselves go after 35- especially married people. Because of stress of jobs. Don't assume you look so young. I have seen many people who aren't overweight or bald and they don't look young either. You seem a little bit conceited in a way.

Lastly, for men, bone structure is a dead give away. If they are over 30, they will have a more mature "manly" bone structure. Many men under 30 can still pass for younger simply because they don't have their mature face shape yet. But being overweight has nothing to do with age. In fact, in some cases, having a little extra weight seems to make people appear younger than they are.

    Hey there everyone,
this has only recently since 30 become an issue for me.
I am 34 as of now, born Dec 29 1980
I go to clubs, raves and concerts and people guess me for 19 or 20. The way I act, dress and look is all as someone in that age range.
I am still as agile as I was at 20 or even earlier, no aches or pains or even a hint of a wrinkle. Rarely get sick ever.
Just my friends and the girls I date are all of that age 18-24, and some when they find out my age they are either amazed, confused of grossed out by it. I do tell them when I meet them. Yet there is no way I could associate with people my own age, they think I am too young or their lives are completely not on the same level as mine.
Almost to the point I wish the gov't or someone would help me out changing all my age documents to suit this great affliction :).

It feels like something, a god or whatever you want to believe, hit the pause button on me at 20. I like this blessing, but there is a lot of grief that comes along with it.

I'm 40, but look 20-25 years old. I love it and always get a kick at people's reactions when they find out my real age.

I have a 21 year old son who looks 15 and we're always mistaken for brother and sister. His friends ask him if it would be ok to date your sister and can you introduce me to your sister.

I'm not into dating young guys old enough to be my son and men my age are a bit boring. Unfortunately, most guys in their 30's want to get married and have a family.

Some women can get a little catty and petty. Especially old friends I've known since high school. They'll say comments like "you look well preserved" and "have you had any work done?".

As some have mentioned on here, my eyes are also sensitive to light, skin is a bit oily and I very rarely get sick.

I never thought of not ageing normally as a problem, but I've always been curious as to how this is possible?

Aside from the dating dilemma, I rather enjoy and embrace looking youthful.

    Cheers!

I have also 'aged well' as people often say to me. The subject is inevitably touched on whenever my baby-face is in close proximity to my taller, larger, bearded younger brother and people find out that he's 27 and I'm 30. Some people have even gotten a little offended because they figure we're trying to trick them. People frequently tell me that it's a gift that I look so young for my age, I find it interesting how precisely 0% of those people were ones who themselves look much younger than their age and can offer advice or say comforting things like 'trust me' or 'I know what you mean, don't worry.'

You just don't know how it is unless you're living through it. Sure, the way you carry yourself and your attitude and your personality goes a long way, but lets face it, we are human and will always have a primal way of looking at things - it wouldn't be a problem if first impressions weren't such a big deal. One example: I have found it nearly impossible to attract women my age, even women a couple years younger than me won't give me the time of day. However, when it comes to girls in college, I can't pry them off with a crow bar at times, but the college girls that know I'm 30, not interested anymore. Hmm, funny how that works. I know some of you are probably saying right now to yourselves 'this guy is an idiot, he could be out there getting college tail like there's no tomorrow!' or 'Why don't you tell them you're 22 or something?!' I'm looking to build a strong relationship with someone, a companion, someone that I have a real connection with and I would imagine that lying about my age is bad practice when I am looking to gain someone's trust. I have only had a deep, strong relationship like that once in my life, it was also my only long-term relationship I've ever had. I have also only dated someone the same age as me once, also funny how that works.

Appearance is a very primal aspect of our lives and one we can't deny. unfortunately(or fortunately) how you look IS very important because the eyes are very much a main interface for humans, we rely SO much on our sight and therefore we analyze, criticize, and scrutinize everything that enters our brain through our eyes. What we are seeing at any given time can have an effect on our mood, and more or less, our psyche. Example: You are sitting down at a nice restaurant for dinner. The interior is beautifully decorated with plush seating and is spotlessly clean and your server has yet to arrive at the table. As you browse the drink menu you smell the sweet smell of a rather intriguing perfume and a girl with a delicate and sexy voice utters from behind you "good evening." But as you turn and she approaches the table you see a horse-faced, buck-toothed, knock-kneed beast of a girl practically bulging out of her outfit (no offense to anyone that fits this description xD)

Why did you expect to see an attractive young woman approaching you? why were you so surprised to see that it wasn't a thin, sexy blonde coming over to introduce herself? I'll tell you why, it's because you trust your eyes so much, you rely on them for practically everything you do, and how many times can you remember seeing, with your eyes, a person fitting that description that also sounds and smells like an incredibly sexy woman. I'm willing to bet on never;)

Finally, to answer the question: Is it normal? My answer is yes and no. yes, it's normal for people to develop at different rates, it's been happening that way for hundreds of thousands of years and will continue to happen. However, my answer is also no because it's not normal to see an under-developed or significantly younger looking person involved in something that an older or more mature person might be; remember, birds of a feather flock together. I don't mean to rant or sound like I'm complaining. The fact of the matter is, the way you or I or anyone else appears to others can and will have an impact and is a deciding factor in some ways on the opportunities we are given in life, whether they are good or bad. I'm also not saying that you can't be 'unattractive', have a mate, be happy, and successful. I AM, however, saying that if you are unattractive, you better have the skills to pay the bills if you know what I mean=) I may be completely wrong about all of this or you simply may not agree. All I know is there's only 2 certain things in life: death and taxes!

I'm just as your case , im 21 years old turning 22 in 4 months , most people think i'm 14-15 years old , and it really annoys me , but im trying my best to acclimate with it , like when i was 15 most people thought i was 11 and when i turned 18 i looked 13 , and now i'm stuck at the 15s as if i'm aging so slowly with time , and time is dilating relative to my frame . so i knew my curious case and decided to go with it , and try to live my life in a smart way , and know how it works , i built a curious person , that wants to know everything , i majored physics in college , and i'm a guitarist too . I don't care for what people say , because i know myself , i know that inside this boy there's a great man flowing . I've tried to look at it from the positive side , and continued my journey to explore the universe . i know how it feels , i know how many times your heart broken , i know how you get frustrated of the situation , i know how you feel different , i know how you ask why me ? , i how sometimes you think of dying , i know how you get the feeling of being the little guy or the big guy ... it's just about life , it's not just the body , that's the proof of us , no matter how the human looks , as long as there's a mind , this mind is the aim , and not the body.

I'm 30 years old and my aging slowed right down from 18. Even my partners mother a few days a ago said I look the same age as her youngest daughter. I saw someone on the bus and when I spoke to them they were shocked and thought I must be my younger brother as I have hardly aged. But I wonder if perhaps people look older nowadays on average than in the past ie people who look 40 these days would have looked the same as 30 year olds 50 years ago. I see some 15-16 years olds today and they look a lot older to me than when I was 15

Nah it's the other way around. People looked older in the past. That's why the average life span was only 60 something back then. So they aged faster and died faster. Remember, times were tougher back then.

I also still see some highschool kids who look older than me. And I'm 29. It doesn't mean they are aging faster. It's more like they are aging normally like everybody else. Whereas you and I are the exceptions who don't age.

Dude, you should try think of it as a blessing, instead of as a problem. Because it is true. The people who 'age normally' are the ones who should be envious of us. Nobody wishes to grow grey and old fast. You are living the predicament everybody else wants.

      I'll be 30 next year. People still think I'm a student in university/college. I'm loving it. :)

My advice is to find things about your life that you appreciate. Cease focusing on the other stuff. Good luck.

I have this same problem too but I think its the best thing ever. I am 37 but look 25 or younger depending on who you ask. I use it to my advantage any time I can. Its so much fun to be able to prolong those years of your life forever. I can still wear all the teen trends and not look silly. I can go to concerts like Warped Tour where everyone is no older than mid twenties and fit in. Most of the concerts I go to everyone is way younger than me and no one ever knows. Its so much fun really. The best part is way younger guys hit on me and want to hook up. I like younger men. Men my own age are old and wrinkled. I will admit I have had botox but I think everyone including celebrities have to do a little bit of something to help slow the aging process. I work out almost every day to to stay in shape even though I have a natural thin figure. Also I never sun tan ever. Never have. I think that keeps your skin from aging. Always wear sunscreen and avoid sun exposure on your neck, back , chest and face. Keep your neck and chest out of the sun and your skin will look like you are 18 forever.

So glad I found this! At 21 I was the only one of my friends carded constantly to get into a 16 age limit night club. From 20-25 border guards asked if my parents knew where I was. I got carded seriously up until mid-30s. Now at least I look in my 30s but am mid-40s. My boyfriend is 27 and other guys in their 20s keep asking me out. I have very little grey hair and my wrinkles are more what I see in 35 yo women. I've never smoked, drink in moderation and started eating healthier & taking vitamins in my mid-30s. I have very oily skin like some mentioned. Also I have that issue most of you mentioned with sensitive eyes& light and most pics of me look like I'm squinting. What about moles? I've always been quite moley and they say that is a sign of slow aging. I think this is genetic as my mom & grandma both got gray hair much later than their peers. My dad has always looked good for his age & had a great gramps on his side who lived into 90s. I have 3 kids and all of them have my genetics & lots of moles. My 24 yo & 11 yo have baby faces and look younger than their peers so think I've passed this onto all my kids. Last week a friend's kid said to her mom that she knew I was a mom but that I looked like a kid!

I'd like to see your pictures. Some people tell me that I look a lot younger than my age too (I'm 25), but I don't really think it's true.
I think that when I dress like I'm 14 people think I'm younger.

Great to finally find what I've been looking for for many years, now, i.e., others who share my "condition" and some validation of my own theories as to the causes, etc.

Reading your comments and relating them to my own experience, I see a common thread:

    1. This is a genetic factor, possibly the the result of a genetic mutation.

    2. It seems to kick in around puberty and the gap between one's chronological age and apparent age gradually increases from about 3 to 5 years on up to 10 to 20 years' difference.

    3. It doesn't seem to matter how one lives or what state of health one is in, if they have this mutation, they will continue to look younger than they are over the course of their life. There is a possible exception to this, however, with those who have abused drugs. My "little" brother would be a case in point. He always looked much younger than he is, also, and, in fact, still does, at 56, although his many years of drug abuse have him looking older than me, and I'm almost five years older than he is.

I'm just like everyone else on here..I'm 22 (23 in a couple of months) but I look like I'm 16 or 17. It's a little embarrassing right now because I work at Little Caesars and everyone that works there are around 16-18 years old and I look like the same age as them but it's also kind of a compliment when they ask how old I am and they say that's amazing when I tell them my age and...I hear that when I'm 40 I'll look 20 so I'm kind of looking forward to that. lol

Lizzie you clearly have know idea how this can effect your life people are saying it is effecting their ability to get work and others like myself it can be isolating. I use to know this girl who was the same age as I at the time 19 she had a full head of grey hair and looked a lot older she never got asked out on any of the girls nights out as it looked like they were taking their mother with them it works the same way the opposite end and looking young it's fine if it's just a few years but I look abut 14 years younger then I am and it makes some parts of like very hard.

Hi I'm so happy to come across this page I was starting to think there was somthing wrong with me. I'm nearly 32 now and mother to two wonderful toddlers. I am constantly told I look not even 18 it's a big problem as now I'm a mother it can be quite isolating looking so young. It played a Hugh part in me becoming a single mother also which is another story. My background is after graduating from unversite I started working in the media as first a photographer then a film director in fashion. I never even though about looking so young as I worked with a real mix aged group it did not seem to be a problem but now after moving to a new area I'm finding it impossible to make friends with the same age mums as I they look down their noses at me and make me.feel complenty inadequate. I'm small with very good skin and small features a combination resulting in looking extremely young it kinda makes you grow a bit of a chip on your shoulders and people that feel the need to say somthing well I'm sorry but they would not like it if I turned around and said you look like your 80 when intact your 40 where are these people's manners. As to dating again I have no idea how this will work I never had a problem before dating same age guys as myself and I'm told I'm attractive but the older I get the more it concerns me that I will be single for ever. Well maybe when I'm 40 I will end up marrying one of the models I film haha seriously though I'm trying not to let it effect me but Im also really sick of it effecting my life. Im well spoken clearly well educated and love to start new hobbies like snowboarding I'm anything but dull so I guess if people can't Handel my young face then who cares.

I'm in my early forties and I have looked younger my entire life and now people still think that I am in my twenties. Many people spend thousands on plastic surgery with the hope of shaving even just a few years off. I think that looking younger is a blessing. If you have kept yourself fit and healthy and you still look young, that is something to be proud of. My Grandmother was in her eighties and she could pass for someone in their sixties. I thank God for my good genes and my good fortune.

I look about 10 years younger, just turned 35, male. More recently my age peers have really started to accelerate in terms of their ageing and I feel more and more out of place. My late teens and early twenties were actually ok as everyone looked relatively young. On the whole, I have a myriad of the usual stories to tell of disrespect, being treated with contempt or simply ignored. To anyone not affected, imagine wearing a mask of a different person, the person that people perceive, but being a completely different person underneath. The real killer is that the person people perceive is a youngster with little experience, knowledge or anything, while underneath hides a grown man with a wife and successful career. I am effectively disabled and class myself as such. With my condition I am unable to participate in normal society. The real downer is that deep down I have a positive, confident and generally happy and extrovert character. Tragically, by the way people typically treat me, my condition has made me bitter, confrontational, introvert and generally withdrawn from society. My life would be essentially ruined would it not be for my beautiful wife, who takes me for who I am !! I am so lucky :)
My agelessness is definitely abnormal and all I would wish for is to simply fit in with the rest of society, not too much to ask in my book.
I agree that medical/genetic reserach needs to be undertaken into this abnormality.

So I was wondering: what is you guys diet like, do you eat a lot, or not? Healthy? vegan? Exercise? Do you wear sunscreen, moisturizer?

Someone should do a survey about this with all options in it :)

Maya, my diet and exercise regimen have been all over the charts over the course of my 60 years, so I don't think it's a diet/fitness issue, but rather, a genetic factor. We have all inherited a genetic predisposition for aging very slowly, which seems to kick in at about puberty. Even if we have health problems, we continue to look many years younger than we are and I expect that will continue to be the case over the course of our lives.

One thing, as a genealogist, that interests me is whether we are all from the same haplogroup or not. A haplogroup is a genetic "clan" from which one descends. The earliest progenitor of each haplogroup was a single individual whose genes mutated and that mutation was passed on to his or her descendants, right down to the present day. There are several haplogroups, each descending, in turn, from earlier haplogroups, going all the way back to the first humans who left Africa, some 60,000 years ago. It would be interesting to see if this trait we all seem to share is a mutation passed down through only one haplogroup or from more than one, and which one(s).

At last, I've found some commonality. I'm 31, on my 30th birthday I realized that I wasn't aging. And it's not a good thing, it's a burden. I've had people perform background checks on me because they believed I was using a fake Id. I look as I did in my high school senior pic, and I don't like it. My girlfriend broke up with me over this. What should we do, I need answers from people on how to deal with ordinary life over this. Also, are there health risks involved?

Sorry to hear of your misfortunes. I've had some run-ins of my own with people who thought I was lying about my age and I expect that when/if I apply for my Social Security benefits, they may give me a hard time then, also. As to the failed relationship, that's the story of my life. By my late 30s, I'd had some 30 women in my life and stopped counting beyond that point. The longest relationship I've ever had was less than three years, when I was married, at 47.

Ever since I can remember I have always looked younger than my class mates. When I was 12 everyone thought I was only 6-7 years old. It only got worse when I went to high school as people were convinced that I was either some child genius that moved up a few years and due to me being a bit shorter that seem likely. After going to college I noticed that others still seemed older even those that went to college after me (the younger kids) looked even older than me, the worst part was when one of them said to me "hey little guy what are you doing here?" How embarrasing! At this point I looked 15 years old when I was in fact 18 years old. As I was working in a restaurant it was about the same then, think about it this way Saturday night after a rugby game so you can only imagine.

Eventually I went to uni and still my age kept shocking people as they thought I was younger and must be about 17 years old. And I'm still look the same.

My father said that its a family trait and we tend to age slower in our family. He is 49 and only looks to be late 30's early 40's. He also mentioned that when he was my age that the exact same thing happened to him.

I know some people mention about how much of a blessing it is and I will be happy when I'm older but I don't feel happy about it! I don't like people younger looking down at me, thinking I'm some sort of child! I'm training to become a veterinary surgeon and so it involves a level of being professional but how can I be when I'm questioned constantly?

Had to get that frustration out guys lol. I should mention that I'm a 23 year old stuck in a 17 year old body :(

I'm currently 26. 27 very soon. People assume I am 20-21. In fact, I've always looked a couple years older than my real age during my teens. I looked my age when I was 18-20. Since then, my aging practically stopped. I notice all my family/friends getting older, but they tell me I haven't changed a single bit all these years.

I see it more as a blessing. It seems so many people here are taking their youth for granted. But personally I enjoy it. There are so many people around me constantly complaining about 'getting old'. They'd love to have what we have. Plus, the slower you age, the longer you live right?

Another great thing about this is I have more options dating wise. I could go for chicks closer to my age, or ones a few years younger, whatever I feel like.

I know this was asked years ago, but lol, this is so silly. I mean, not to sound rude, but a lot more people than you think look a lot younger than their age. I just can't believe that something like this puzzled you so much that you actually had to go online to see if something was wrong with you. NOTHING is wrong with you. In fact, I'd feel flattered if I were 38 and people were telling me they thought I was 25. And 38 isn't even all that old anyway.

This is bs. If there were people who aged as slowly as you claim you do, you'd get 40 year old athletes who could still compete at the level of a 25 yo who don't have to retire. You'd get celebrity model/movie sensations who look half their age. You'd see 80 yos who aren't grey and wrinkly. But ya don't. Sure people age differently, some better than others, but the signs are still there, the ageing process is still going on in the background. No matter who you are you'll look like a living corpse if you got to 120. You can count on it. Biologically impossible to avoid ageing without scientific intervention...

Anyway it's clear to me that you've missed the point of this thread. Nobody's saying they are gonna live forever. They are just saying how they look young for their ages.

I think that comment about being from poor areas might have something to do with it in fact. I dont mean about poor areas, Im only a student so I dont have much money either and I still look a lot younger. But Ive been spending a lot of time in developing countries (even though Im from a developed country) and it seemed that the poorer classes in those countries often aged faster. I thought it had something to do with both attitude and lifestyle. In those cultures many people thought they were "very old" as soon as they hit their late 20s or 30ish, and then seemed to give up on everything, not have fun any more, etc. Also, people didnt seem to know as much about nutrition and most of them didnt exercise so much, especially the women. And women often had lots of kids. So I think it has a lot to do with one's thinking and how healthy one lives.

On the other hand though, lots of my relatives didnt go out of their way to be healthy or have good attitudes either and they still look really young! So that would be the genetic factor.

About the age "kicking in", I dont know really since Ive met people in the 70s and 80s where it never kicked in, not yet anyway. But those people tended to have really good attitudes and healthy lifestyles. Also, I have cousins, men and women both, in their 60s who look 40. It seems to me it only kicks in if the person has had some unhealty living for some time and when they hit a certain age that suddenly starts to show.

I do think it's a mixture of genetics and lifestyle. Yes, you can be blessed with youthful genes, but you could further prolong your youth by living a good life. I'm sure we can all agree that stress ages you faster. People from poorer countries most likely had to work worker to make ends meet. And they don't have the privilege of having the nutritional standards we do.

My parents both look young for their ages. But my brother and I are aging even slower than they were at our ages. I'm thinking it has a lot to do being better off and eating healthier than they did.

There are many factors that contribute to this, but I believe you can yield maximum results when you have more than one criteria down.

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. I'm a 30 year old female and people think that I'm lying when I tell them my real age. Some think I'm still a teenager. When I play the lottery, I often have to show my I.D. or give my date of birth. People a little older than me talk to me like I'm a child. I always hear "honey" "sugar" "sweetie. One thing that I am tired of hearing when I mention that I want children/marriage someday, "Oh you have plenty of time, you are still young!" That is SOOOO annoying!!!! My boyfriend is 34 and goes through the same thing. It seems like the world doesn't take me serious at all.

There's a rare condition where people can't age. There's a girl from Maryland who's should be in her late teens, but she still looks like a baby! I don't think you have this, but like you said it could be a hormonal imbalance. Some people look older than they really are and vice-versa. When I was in my early teens, people often thought I was in my mid-late teens and occasionally early twenties. I think that assumption was based on me being precocious. I'm now in my late teens and people occasionally guess higher Then my actual age, but it's a bit rare. If this bothers you then you could see a doctor about a hormonal possibility.

well,,,,have same problem and i am a male..

    I have these solutions:

    1) Never laugh with your cheeks swollen and mouth wide open ..:) just smile occasionally...Don't look slouchy....its very important..

    2) Try to keep beard and moustache, if possible

    3) Wear a photochromatic spectacle with thick frames..

    4) Wear professional cloths, not like fashioniesta..

Yeah you see sometimes , someone looks incredible , even some of the celebs but then ya see em a few yrs later and it is showing - finally , or in other light often does it too .
I dunno , you'd think it'd be a great thing , dream come true but then if your like a fish outa water , gotta be weird too.
Wonder if he did go and make a new life , took of 20 yrs , maybe subconsciously the body and soul eventually believes it too and he automatically lives 20yras longer , I reckon that's possible , the minds a powerful thing any literature will tell you.

I posted here about my uncle but for some reason they didn't put it through but he's 53, looks 3os. He's so out of place with people his age tho, like a 25yr old compared to them.
Girls of all ages love him , I always wonder if they know his age, I know some do and they're like whatever. He doesn't pretend to be anything he just is what he is but I see it does give him some grief.
Like he reckons 60s not far of but it's all wrong and so he doesn't know what to do with it, his in the wrong body and mind , he is too !
He's very agile , moves about like someone 1/2 his age,
all his music , talk , dress, tastes , the lot, all sort of fit him but not his age number itself. Most his friends are much much younger , they just like him and he does fit them far more.
It's really strange tho , I often think what the, when I'm around him, like it's the number that's not him as such. He has heaps of clashes and issues with people because although he's a very smart guy but because of his looks and way about him , if it's something serious or dealing say an older typical type I dunno , you know people in councils, law, issues with his houses I dunno anything on lifes more serious side , they tend to be a bit stand over'ish with him although his tall and no pussy , he does come across much much younger.
I spose the 60 things a way of yet but mg , couldn't imagine it with him , I said you'll have to go away , make a new life and just take of 20 yrs and then all will be normal and to hell with the number. He reckons he's actually thought about that because he doesn't have in himself any issues but that number stuffs him up almost all the time and just makes everything too weird for what he actually is , sick of it he reckons.

That's just it, we won't ever look our age. I am going to be 61 this October and, if anything, the gap between my apparent age and my chronological age has widened over the years. I now look 45, whereas, when this began, in my teens, the gap was about 3 to 5 years.

Agreed. Most people will look their ages, but not us.

I looked my age at 18-19. But 10 years later, the gap has already widened to 7-8 years. I'm eager to see how much wider the age gap will become over the next few decades.

I go through the same thing, too. I was recently at the airport at my final rest, and was asked if I am home from school. I'M 41!! I think it is genetic, something to do with Telomeres... Just like people have different color skin, some are short while others are tall ... Some age fast, others age slow. It's genetic. The age thing has proved awkward for me, too, when seeking dates. I don't want to date a woman in her 40s because I still want to start my own family and don't want to adopt, but younger women in their 20s don't go for guys in their 40s ... essentially their father's age! Guess I have to look for that particularly good-hearted young lady who will like me for me and won't care how old I am.

I'm 35 and I look like if i was 24 - 25... and I enjoy it, because I'm not married and I still dont have children. I can date girls and my old friends don't... all of my old friends are married or have children, and they look their age, so it's kind of weird, sometimes some of them get jelous about it but I dont want to stay away from my old friends.
My advice about this situation: when you are dating a young girl dont tell her your real age, cause she'll freak out and won't talk to you again... just lie, and if both of you get in love then tell her the true.
The point is, we are not alone, with the new anti-ageing technollogies more and more people will start to live what we are living, look at Madonna and Tom Cruise looking 30 when they are in their 50s... ageing slowly will be normal and ageing quickly will be weird.

Welcome to the club! I am turning 50 next year and people always tell me I look like I'm in my early 30's. Few grey hairs not visible unless you look closely, few wrinkles and I'm fit. But I also have medium brown skin. I look so young that my blonde/pale wife felt she was "forced" to have cosmetic surgery (brow lift, eye lift) even though she is a few years younger than me! I always get a kick asking a woman in their 20's to guess my age? Nobody comes close.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with looking much younger than you are, in fact, I think, that's really good, even if you are questioned at the cinema's entrance or other people are rude to you thinking you are much younger, you have a voice and life experience so you can put people in their places making them feel ashamed for misjudging and misbehaving.
I look much younger than I am but I am really proud of it and not concerned that either older or younger men wouldn't want to have a relation with me as that's not want's important. People like them are just waste of space and they consitute a natural selection :)
So, younger looking people be happy and enjoy your luck don't be frightened!

So enjoy while it lasts, because there are younger gross that won't care your real age and will date you or even marry you.

Basically my friend, do this. If you meet a girl simply tell her you are 28. You date a while, things escalate, the relationship becomes monogamous and serious. Then when you really think you love each other... you let her know. Most likely, if you built a true love then it shouldn't matter. But if it does and she gives you the "you lied to me this whole time" bs.. simply ask her if you didn't would you have even spent all that time together falling in love. I guarantee that will be the easiest bet to finding a woman who one, you will know will truely love you if she stays with you. And two, at least having your fun and being young even if it means she leaves.

Oh, you're aging, alright, as we all are - just at a slower rate than the rest of the population. It will be interesting to see whether, like me, the gap between your real age and your apparent age widens as you get older. mine has. At first, the gap was about five or six years. then, it expanded to ten and now it is about twelve to fifteen years' difference, at age 60.

I also have the same aging problem as you. I am 26, 27 in two months. I still look like I'm 17 or so. I often get the bewildered looks when I tell people my age, as they tend not to believe me. I think there must be something more to this. I have many abnormalities with myself in addition to the aging. I have what is called central heterochromia in both of my eyes. It is a condition which only happens to about 1% of the entire world population. It's when your eyes are two-toned. Mine are green with a brown starburst pattern inside the green. I can post pictures if you need, but wiki my condition you'll get the idea. Not sure if this has anything to do with the aging problem, just an observation. I am alos somewhat of a loner and do not have lasting realtionships with friends or otherwise. I had a rare blood disease when I was young that nearly killed me. It is called HSP (henoch scanlin purpura) (may be spelled wrong) but I lived through it. This was said to be a 1 in a million thing that people get, and of those 1 in a million survive. I'm what you may call "unique". Basically, every situation in my life where I should have died, I've lived. Does anyone else have any similar stories?

Interesting. I haven't had your particular conditions, but I was born a dyscalculic, which means I have a congenital defect in the left parietal lobe of my brain that prevents me from being able to do math in my head, or to understand higher mathematics. I'm one of about 4 to 6% of the world's population who have it. Mine is a mild case, as I am able to do rudimentary arithmetic in my head, but very slowly. With aids, such as a calculator, architect's scale and the measurement tools in Autocad, I was able to maintain a 30 year career as an architectural draftsman.

My fiancee said that if I was to go to highschool then I could blend right in. It's frustrating at times, but you know what dude, when you are 70 then you are going to wish that you look like a 50 year old, so might as well bask in it now.

first of all, if people say you look 25, then why would they ask to see your ID? The US age limits are 18 for beer and 21 for wine. I'm not sure about where you live, but I'm guessing its the same. So most likely thats a lie just put in there to make you seem younger or make it seem more like this whole thing isn't some big lie. secondly, "most men my age are fat, balding, have too much facial hair, and wrinkles" ARE YOU A COMPLETE IDOIT? THERES SIMPLE WAYS TO AVOID THOSE "DEFALTS" IF YOU COULD EVEN CALL THE THIRD ONE THAT!
fat- ummmm excersize and diet maybe?
balding- a wig or some hair growth stuff...?
facial hair- thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard, they want it like that to look mature and wise! All they have to do is shave if they dont want it!
wrinkles- this is a little harder on your tiney brain so I dont blame you... wear sun screan and try to stay out of the sun mid day. oh and have fun so you arent stressed!
I have a feeling this whole thing is a lie. the only reasonable explainations to this are 1)This whole thing is one big lie and you just made this to make you feel better about yourself (idk how, considering its not even true but hey, u have ur hobbies, I have mine) 2) a few people made a huge exageration to make u feel better when the usual is "you look no older than 35!" and you took it a little far thinking your the only person in the world that ever had a few really nice people say you look 15 years younger than you really do 3) You are just over exaggerating, people probably told you that you look like your in your early 30s but u wanted to make it sound better so you changed it to 25 and added that ID stupid lie on there 4) -I already know this one is a lie because a minor is 18 and you said "everyone thinks I'm 25"- everything you said is true and your just bragging.

Good job, my 12 year old little cusion read this and saw right through your little act. Everything typed above was by her! I know her 4 yr old sister could never figure that out! Your so smart!

I don't think you understand how rules work.

If the legal drinking age is 21, the bouncers have been told to ID anybody who looks under 30 - for security precautions. In countries where the legal drinking age is 18, bouncers have been told to ID anybody who looks under 25.

They do this because they are aware some people look much older than what they really are. That way, it will prevent the underagers from entering the venues.

So it doesn't mean cause got IDed, then you must you look under 21! The topic starter was 38 looking 25, and she still looked under 30, so of course she's gonna get IDed.

People in poor areas look like age faster because of stress depresion. They stay up late at night causing baggy eyes and dark circles which takes away alot of that fun, youthful looks everyone strives for. There lips start to hang because they haven't smiled as much as they should causing there smile to look old and frail. So you could be right in a different situation, those are just minor, and can only make you look a few years older than you are at the most. He's 38 and people think he's in his mid 20s. thats almost 15 years appart not 2 or 3! which I personally think is a lie or an over exageration.

I've stayed up late since I was a teenager and I get no more than 5 to 6 hours sleep per night. I have no bags under my eyes. It's a genetic thing, not a lifestyle issue. My lifestyle has varied tremendously over the course of my life and hasn't affected my youthful appearance at all.

I am 33 and I still get asked to show my ID all the time. I just dated a 20 year-old this September. I f**king love it man...what r u, some kind of psycho freak? Why don't u go on a quest and find the fountain of aging?

  • Yea it might kick in anyday now, so just be warned you will get old, we all do. Not all men in their 40's get fat and bald, I know some who are quite attractive, but old guys are just not for me, not right now anyway.
