I don't brush my teeth regularly

I forget to brush my teeth for months and years. The toothbrush is scratching my gums and the tooth paste leaves unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth and feeling of dry mouth or tingling. If you wonder what will happen If you don't brush teeth the answer is nothing. They will function fine. The plaque doesn't build up. It's just the same quantity of plaque every day over and over again.

I speak from experience when I say that what you're doing is very stupid.

If your teeth are in good condition when you stop cleaning them regularly, you can get away with this for a while - years, maybe. But you will eventually get decay which may progress to dental abscesses if the decay isn't dealt with. Toothache is extremely unpleasant, but abscesses are agonising. If the infection is in the upper jaw, they can be life-threatening since there is a very real risk of bone erosion allowing the infection to go right through into the brain cavity.

PS. A £80 electric toothbrush can easily save £800 in dental expenses over its lifetime. If you are a mouth breather while you sleep, dry mouth oral rinse yields incredible savings. In the U.S., no dentist will ever tell you this because it reduces his future profits.

    • Dentist said the abscesses on my right side, last 3 teeth I need extracted, are infected. Getting them extracted is the very next goal I'm gonna accomplish

Go to a dentist, your teeth are going to fall out if you don't take care of them

They found fossils of hunter gatherer humans and discovered perfect straight teeth on everyone. As soon as agriculture was introduced they started seeing in fossils teeth become crooked and having decay. Due to our modern diets we have to brush our teeth or they will fall out.

My mom did that my entire childhood. She blames depression from the divorce. She got divorced when I was 2. Let that sink in. She now has almost no teeth. Can barley eat anything. Im 23 now. So she hasn't brushed for 21 years.

Brushing is like shaving. The first couple times suck but after that there's no discomfort

You can't say that nothing happens because not everyone's teeth are the same. Some people will need fillings even if they do brush their teeth everyday, so telling them they'll be fine if they don't brush their teeth could be really harmful. I don't brush my teeth much but I've already had 3 fillings as a result, and I'm only 30.

Dude I got like 4. However as a child I was very neglectful of my oral hygiene. As an adult twice a day and mouth wash. Good stuff that.

Teeth can survive without a care for like four or five years for a healthy person. It's like drinking or taking drugs. It never feels bad at first. Takes time. When you realize something is wrong you can't do anything about it.

I went years without brushing my teeth and now I'm wearing a partial denture at 23. Don't do this.

Then you're a dirty so-and-so and nobody will want to kiss you. (Man, does it feel good to have a undisputed 'high horse' on which to look down from. Thanks, OP!)
