    Real answer (not backed up by any research):

    It's a fetishization of one or both things on the human body that naturally inflate: the genitals and the belly. Depending on where the artist's infatuation is, there's an association made in the brain where either "bigger = feels better" or "bigger belly = more fertile", and that is where you see the hormonal response.
