I don't get the hype about star wars

My older brother loved Star Wars when we were kids. He would play the original trilogy over, and over, and over.... Why? What is so great about it? "*Pew* *Pew* Help me Obi Wan Jabloobie, you're my only hope!" Maybe it's because I wasn't alive at the time it came out in theaters and the effects were considered revolutionary? What about kids who are obsessed with it that are my age? I can't stand how obsessed some people are about it.

    Star wars has been taken over by Disney. They rammed it down our throats and turned it into a a big joke that won't fuck off and die. I am so sick of all the tacky merch and shoehorned in references and fake reviews. You are normal in your opinion here OP.

    It is kind of like Lord of the rings or star trek. One has to be a special kind of "weird" in order to get into it.
