i'm chinese and i understand where these negative comments come from. we need to improve. on the other hand, you need to think in a positive way. at least chinese never robbed you or pointed you with a knife or gun :)

I think that's the most insensitive thing I've ever heard someone say. Don't sum them all up to be the same. I have a close friend who happen's to be chinese. She moved here from China four years ago, and she's one of the sweetest girl's I've ever met in my life. Too many of these ugly Chinese walking around nowadays. I am tired of seeing their ugly faces. They are mostly crooks at heart. You talk about smiles--these are false and evil smiles. These people eat cockroaches and spit in public. They are a people without manners. Very low class people.

Well, that surprised me. I always thought that Chinatown areas were really popular. The one in my city is beautiful and I'm really pleased to have a little bit of China here.

Eastern culture is different to Western culture and I think spending a little time understanding Chinese culture may help you realise that our priorities, outlooks, and philosophies are different. That's no reason for us not to get along, though.

I am Chinese, but I came to Australia when I was 5. I don't like these Chinese who specks their language all the time, and they are rude. They talk so fucking loud and dont clean the table after dining in the restaurant. They push u and never apologise. I am not being discrimination towards Chinese. But their behaviour piss me off.

Why?! My best friend is Chinese! When we bump into eachother, he always apologizes! And you don't even know yourself how it's like being Chinese, so stop complaining about them! They're also people like you! What if someone said that they hate your race? How would you feel, huh?!

I am very multiculture open to all cultures but..... I have dated chinese girls and to be honest one nearly killed me and the other destroyed my marriage without a care in the world. They are cold have no emotion and money hungry. If you work with them they won't work in a team unless u r one of them. My first girl friend gave me hep b and walked away from me while my liver nearly gave in. The other girl a chinese in canada manipulated me so much I left my wife and used me for her fun when fun was over she left me and threatened me with the police. They are a race I still want to give a chance to but they have done too much harm. I believe they are still very inhuman.

I am ethnically Asian and I am doing my utmost to distant myself from any Chinese speakers, and to a lesser extent Asians in general, like a few mentioned above, they appear to be "money oriented", that's because they mostly don't understand social interaction mechanisms, they feel that if they have money and pay then they are cool, and you need to like them, or if you have the same skin color, then you need to befriend them. They don't understand that there's something that link between the two, i.e. the mutual exchange of money and services, the sense of belonging good memories create (which is contextual and not guaranteed for everyone). Maybe they have their reasons behind that, but the lack of ability to actually see how interpersonal relationships work make them awkward and appear rude. For them, it's "us against them" regardless of reasons, and I am not a member of "them", no matter what they think.
Note: this is not racism or xenophobia, I have met a rare few who are not like that, and they are almost always born and raised from somewhere outside of Asia, so judge people by their individual merits, or you would be just like them.
Note 2: Trust me, comparing to you, I have a much rawer deal, for no reason other than I have yellow skin. (They are MUCH more racist than you, esp. when you share the same skin color with them).
Note 3: And no, I am not embarrassed by my skin color, that's exactly my point: I don't believe that I should be judge by my color, what is anyone's business in the color I'm in? I, and anyone, should live or die on their own merits, regardless of their colors. The people who think that I'm "sucking (insert color)'s dick" can go **** themselves.

l am from china and have some trues to clarify. most people think that Chinese are ALL rude or aggressive(especially while doing business ) .it is true PARTLY. i understand some one u met somehow annoyed u.but please! not ALL guys in china are like that.LT DEPANDS!!! i am from one of the biggest city in ch.the people here are all polite and friendly.sometimes we will meet rude guys too!Especially from the north or inland(cuz there are more likely to be poor and some people without good education somehow become quite rich and willing to travel or do business abroad.) Remember that those unfriendly people u met are also unwelcome in china! we all dislike them! it is all about personal quality.not race .etc !!! if someone talks loudly in restaurant or behave badly in public.i will feel bad even ask them to try to respect others too!

I am a Chinese and I can understand what you mean. Yeah, it is necessary for us to reflect ourselves, but in my opinion, poverty, dictatorship are the bigger problems confronting us Chinese, instead of how to be courtesy. Based on what I have learnt from Weastern history and novels, violence, rudeness, and crimes happened as frequently as in current China. Hence, I do not think these bad things you guys discussed about are unique for Chinese people, instead, they are together with porvety, low productivity and dictatorship.

I live in Sydney and Chinese are like a plague.I tried to talk to one of them one (like you normally do in the USA) and this ugly pale rude Chinese just ignored me. That was my first experience with this people. Then they talk while eating, blow their nose and cough without covering their mouth.Sydney looks pathetic with all this Chinese (I feel I live in China rather than Australia). One time a Chinese girl was eating something at the bus stop making noise with her mouth (mouth open while eating) which smelled really disgusting like rotten fish (almost made me throw up).... The same disgusting smell was at university and I had to go out and had lunch outside. When people try to help them they never say thanks, or welcome. I never used to hate any race but this is too much for me to handle. USA is lucky is not infested with them like in Sydney. Plus....they work like donkeys and ten Chinese live in a room....so it is really full on. I can't stand how they smell when so many of them are in the bus is full torture!! I compare them with cockroaches (which I find very unpleasant and disgusting). Plus they look scary...with no expression on their faces, so pale and numb...like the walking dead Chinese...ugly ugly people!!

See, it's all about aesthetic views. Many Asian ladies regard caucasian or African American males to be too muscular and imposing, giving a sense of insecurity and aggressiveness. Many caucasian people, on the other hand, are not used to Asian people's faces that tends to be flatter.

I would say that you are definitely biased in a way, especially by targeting Chinese people specifically out of Asian people. Most Chinese people you see today are descendants of Chinese labours hired from China over a century ago to build railways in replacement of black slaves. They are, of course, towards the lower spectrum of Chinese people. If you compare them to some uneducated white people, you will not see a noticeable difference in their manner. Instead, if you look at the half million international students from China, you will see that they are much better behaving than the average American population. Most of these people are elites from Chinese educated families, and more than half of them go to a top 50 university in the States. I have had many International Chinese students. They are generous and friendly, and speak or write English much better and an Average American. Asians are indeed much more conscientious in their studies, and are sometimes more talented in many ways. In fact, Chinese culture promotes harmony and mutual well-being, it is us that are more self-oriented in many ways. They might not hold a door for you(this is only a behavior that we think shows off caring for others, but in other culture it might be an offence to their incapability of opening a door), but they will offer you a shelter when there is a zombie outbreak. They eat aloud because they think it is polite and a compliment to the cook's skills. While they try to be nice we may interpret it the wrong way, and vice versa. Your lack of comprehension of their culture renders you unable to look into the good side of them.

I urge you all to give them a equal chance at education and look at their potential. Understand the cultural differences and respect their culture. Think from their perspective and you will notice that you are doing things that they think are rude. They can be educated and have great manner, and they can work-out and become a top body-builder like Mike Chang, founder of Six Packs Shortcut. They obviously are smarter at mathematics or other sciences...... I do not believe they are an inferior race.

I'd like to start off and say that the oriented Chinese/Asian people who still speak their culture, and the ones that are very culture oriented can be rude I understand that. But I am an Asian teen, and I act nothing like my culture or my stereotype. I speak compete English and not a word of Chinese because I was adopted by white patents. So to hate all Chinese people is predijuce . I know some Chinese people who are sweet as hell, but yes some of the most cultured ones can be rude. But don't judge a whole race please

What you really mean is that you don't like Chinese traditional customs, rather than the people themselves, as every Chinese person is different from the other. Even some Chinese don't like Chinese customs and traditions. Please don't judge a person by the way they look.

First of all, both the Americans and Spanish occupied the Philippines in the 1800s. In case you didn't know and I am assuming that you obviously don't know much about different cultures and world history because your comments depict how poorly educated and shortsighted you are, a war named the Spanish American War was fought over land disputes. I did not say that the Chinese didn't "steal" lands from the Philippines. The last time I was in California, visiting a friend, I found myself right in the middle of "Chinatown" in San Gabriel Valley ( a suburb of Los Angeles). I remember a couple of decades before the Valley was still an American valley with English language being the spoken and written language here. But now, bill boards and store signs were in all-Chinese! People walking the streets were Chinese. People driving on the roads were Chinese and they don't know how to drive! The whole place felt more like China than the USA. What's up with those Chinese? They think they've taken over the entire San Gabriel Valley? Many cities in the SGV are Chinese! It looks like the Chinese have already taken over a good chunk of California!

I believe that not all the Chinese are rude as not all the people are good to you too. Why don't you think they might not able to speak English or feel scared to the new environment and the strangers? The world needs more consideration and love.

It really depends, for me, I live in the north middle of China, people in there we don't speak Chinese, most of us live in the hood and we started sellin drugs when we were young.
